Stumbled into this and was instantly hooked. Played a few games with it now and while it may not be hugely dangerous, it is stupidly amusing.

It obviously has to avoid jousting a fair bit but it has the tools for that. Bid schmid at I4 and Juked up.

Not hugely dangerous because Vermeil coording Ryad before or after she moves is just all of the business. Leaves Verm only with his ability on offense and Echo mostly chilling back and chipping away. So Ryad basically has to deliver the big hits, with the other 2 prone to all the variance. Double Juke and Vermeil do combo quite nicely though.

Nasty enough if you can jump on a squishy flanker or 2. And you can, the board space you can cover, from all over the place, to create a box is pretty ridiculous.

So I'm really into it but lots of thought and practice needed. The Reaper is just so easy to lose on the 1st engage and the other 2 can be difficult to predict, for me flying them. Add moving 1st to that and they can end up in plain awful spots when I judge things wrong.

But it's still awesome to use.

Slight downer and obvious imbalance. Rex and Whisper can slot in at the exact same points and are clearly stronger. You lose all the crazy movement and some of the ability to bring them into the same place for a coord. But you gain so much on offence and defence for the main ships, as well as board info. Rex and Whisper barely even need a 3rd ship sometimes.

I would welcome a point swap on the Defender pilots come update time. Vess and Ryad could be 84 and/or 86, with Rex jumping to 86 or 88 instead. I'm happier with the lower numbers

If they raise Whisper 4 and put Echo up 2, while dropping Ryad 2, I'll be laughing.

Yeah, that Ryad is a favourite of mine. But getting the AdvS tricks without giving up her action is a big step up.

Will also add that the coord is pretty great at bailing a Phantom forced to give up it's evade.

No Gunboat in the house I'm afraid. But it'd be nice to add extra damage output to the list.
