Telepathy

By Herne, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

Evening all.

Quite Q. About to run my 1st game, which looks to be quite xeno heavy. Are there any rules changing the difficulty of using telepathy powers on xenos? I can't see any but I thought I might be missing something.

I think the "Closer then Flesh" box on pg 179 would adequately cover this. It's a safe assumption that an alien mind could be considered quite insane when compared to a human mind. Just think of the emotional explosion and possible future crushing depression a psyker would get if he/she plugged into an Eldar mind for instance, or the homicidal rage that might grip them if they touched an orkid mind, or, dear Jebus, what would happen if they tried and successfully touched the mind of a Slougth!

So, the simple solution, if a Telepath touches the unclean mind of a xenos, they must make a WP+0 test. On failure, they gain 1d10 IPs (or more depending on how strong/alien the mind is) for their troubles.
