Setting Up Dangerous Territories

By DacoTrilar, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Which player places the objective tokens in Dangerous Territories?

I don't think it matters.

Each player places 3 obstacles, alternating with the second player going first.

Then each of the six obstacles gets an objective token on it.

Then move on to ship deployment....

Except you can move the objective tokens with Strategic, so it does matter.

Perhaps you alternate, beginning with the second player? I would treat that as the default, but it does feel like a gap in the rules.

If in doubt, find a way to favour 2nd player.

Generally speaking though, even though its possible to have an issue re: strategic, you exceptionally rarely do - its not often you find you've placed the token just out of range of a Strategic Movement, at the start of the game, before squads are deployed.

It's certainly a corner case, but it seems like something that should be FAQ'd. Maybe I'll try submitting it to the FFG Rules Form and see if they get back to me.

That is the best procedure

I have never understood the value in moving a token from a dangerous territory obstacle. You can only gain a token by overlapping an obstacle. Are you moving the token off of the obstacle just to prevent someone from gaining one as it won't be there any more? It becomes a token lost into a black hole at that point?

Edit: Disregard...I found the FFG email clarification page referencing this...
