I was thinking shouldn’t the Corrupted, Cracked, Tainted and Unstable crystals really be modifiers (qualities) applied to other crystals? If you were to undertake this exercise how would you go about it? You could even add some new qualities from legends inpiration such as Compressed or maybe even a Synthetic version of a standard saber crystal.

Check out this episode of the Order66 podcast. Among other things, it does talk about applying the Corrupted Crystal to other types of crystals besides Ilum crystals. Specifically, revealing what type of crystal it originally was once it has been purified. The section on Corrupted Crystals starts at 157:19.
