Money Piles

By RebekahWSD, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Ok, so I've checked rather a lot through the rules, both sets of campaign rules (even if they are playing Sea of Blood), and the newest errata. But, since I can't find it, and the group wishes me to ask, I shall.

Gold piles found in dungeons (in the Campaign) do the gold pile costs increase like the chest gold increases? Do they stay the same? I haven't been able to see anything about gold piles anywhere, and I've been searching. I might just be blind.

Thank you for any help.

They stay the same. There are no special rules for gold piles in RtL (or SoB) and thus the vanilla rules are still in force. 100 coins per hero (400 total), which all goes into the party treasury anyway.

While gold piles remain 400g throughout the campaign, money found in chests and for winning encounters increases based on the campaign level.

Copper chests can contain up to 400g, Silver up to 800g, and Gold up to 1200g.

Copper encounters net 200g-400g, Silver 300g-500g, and Gold 400g-600g.

I know encounters and chest money increases, the players found it unfair that gold piles didn't also increase. Thank you for your answers, I will sadly inform them that gold piles stay the same.

If they think it's unfair, kill them a few times and tell them that they dont lose any gold for dying, and that'll shut 'em up. partido_risa.gif
