Ok can someone explain this to me?

By Daisuke_Aurora, in UFS General Discussion

I like the premise of this game, but what characters are there? What genre's are they from? And where can I buy the cards? I don't see them at Target / Walmart...

Hey there!

First, the game is only available at your local game store, and is not sold in any mass market stores. (Like target, Wal-mart, etc)
Where are you from? There might be players from your area that currently play and can help introduce the game to you!

Secondly, the characters featured in this game are from various games and popular media such as:

Street Figher
Soul Calibur 3 (and soon 4)
King Of Fighters 2006
Samurai Shodown V
Darkstalkers
Penny Arcade

And in a promotional,non-touranment legal set, Warhammer Online.

The wikipedia UFS article has a good listing of the characters available, as well as in which sets they appear. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Fighting_System

Hope it helps!

shadow war is coming soon jypsy.

Oh i believe that tekken has been confirmed too ^_~

not that i even like tekken -_-

tekken has been confirmed? uhm i think it's time for me to admit i don't even no a single charecter from tekken cuase i don't play fighting games, so what charecters are in it?

Tekken is NOT confirmed, only rumors. Rumors without much substance, really. We hope to be finding out about a new license sometime early 2009 that will be part of Set 13 releasing in June 2009.

Aside from tekken being confirmed or not, I have to wonder if yoshimitsu would be stackable with soul calibur's yoshimitsu, it should but maybe not? (That's basically the only character from tekken I remember, as I played him all the time.)

The only thing "confirmed" about Tekken is that at US Nats Steve repeatedly said things roughly along the lines of: "You know, I really like that Tekken game. Wouldn't it be really cool if UFS got Tekken? Not that I'm making some kind of announcement or anything, but gee, wouldn't that just be awesome? " :P

So most people pretty much assume the "one" out of the one-and-a-half licenses hinted at long ago is indeed Tekken.

Seeing as they've been recognized as two separate characters, I do not think that would be the case.

We could look to the Hanzo case, two for Samurai Showdown and one for King of Fighters. Can those stack? If the answer is yes, then so will Yoshimitsu. If not, it will probably be the same for Yoshi.

Glad to see your getting into the game man but only core hobby stores carry ufs as of right now so get out there and support your local hobby store . FYI I will be interviewing Steve Horvath about the future of getting UFS possibly into more the main stream stores in the future on our podcast so stay tuned in everyone.

Especially since the half license could be considered to be Soul Calibur IV, which IIRC has been confirmed as for Set 12.

you play kingdom hearts so you no all about hobby store only.

KH is totally in target dude. Or do you not check such things?

KH in target?! guese i don't hang out their enough, but last i checked yugioh, magic, pokemon, random sports cards, nurato, duelmasters, and mebbe a couple other random games were all target had.
