For any given situation there's one correct answer, no need for interpretation. At the design level, FFG should have hired a team that does nothing but examine other games, so as to learn from them and avoid the same pitfalls. Alas, they simply have too many properties - all of which appear to be managed independently - to be able to give any one of them the focus they deserve.
I agree, but I'm trying to reconcile this statement of uncertainty with "I can say with absolute authority, it's not the play-testers fault." They simply don't jibe.
Weird. Without a doubt? 25 years in print, yet they still are updating/clarifying the rules to the game. I mean really? 25 years, strongest rule book yet they are still updating and banning cards?
That simply don't jibe.
80 odd Play-Testers.
I always, always giggle when people blame the Play-Testers. Like somehow the Play-Testers are able to force the (Game Design[1],Game Development[4], Producer[`1], Editing[2], etc.) peoples to change or clarify something in the rules they were given. All they are able to do is point out an issue and hope it will be resolved.
