"This is your place to share your thoughts about the game and related topics with other fans and community members. As always, we expect you to be respectful of all members, so please refrain from any hostility, and use language appropriate for all audiences."
I've never listened to the unmentionable podcast, because I decided I did not like the joke in the title, and so would not like the rest of it.
But Ginkapo - doesn't the use of language also mean that the MOTF channel ought not be promoted here?
I'm not advocating for that - the MOTF crew are friends of mine and are well aware of my dislike of profanity - but I still watch it and find it of value (though I cannot watch it while my kids are anywhere nearby).
Language in title vs. Language in episode. The reasoning is that the title itself is inappropriate for the forum, content is irrelevant.
Ah.
That makes sense.

I’ve only ever watched the captains clinic and I’ve never heard any one swear to my knowledge? Can’t vouch for the other videos.
@LTD I would agree that the Aussie accent is not family friendly.

Men in vests? Izzat the Men Without Hats cover band? Can MOTF dance when they want to?
Yes, but Luke can only dance to bazouki music...

Troll? Because you think no one is allowed to enjoy or even tolerate a sense of humor different from your own? Wow...
You yourself just admitted that they have good content. I find their content and their pacing to the the best of the current offerings, by a long margin. That said, yes their humor can be a bit sophomoric and skews to the crude side of things, but they clearly note this themselves as warnings to would-be listeners, such that it shouldn't come as a GOTCHA! surprise to anyone). Just because you and others find it unappealing doesn't mean that everyone does or that the OP would, everyone has different tastes and different tolerances, especially for humor.
It certainly doesn't mean that the ORJ has to be censored entirely off a list of podcasts available to Armada players, as you've tried to do here by suggesting that anyone who likes the ORJ must just be "trolling for the lulz."
The ORJ has, I think, the best understanding of the meta/competitive game of all the podcasts, and Bill and the guys have a lot of tournament success and experience to draw from as they present their views.
Thanks for listening! Glad you enjoy the show! For anyone that's interested, we had some custom alt-art cards made, check us out on facebook to get a set. We've got Lando, Bail, and a double sided Kuat/Cymoon ship card. I think they really turned out nice.
As far as us being banned, that just isn't true. We've never received any type of communication from anyone saying we were banned from anything.
Our show is certainly not designed for children, but most R rated movies are dirtier than we are. I really don't understand all the animosity towards us. Nor am I interested in arguing about it.
Our goal with the podcast is to hang out, have a few beers, and talk about this awesome game we all love, with a bit of a focus on tournament and competitive play. We have a lot of fun doing it, and I hope people enjoy listening to it. If not, our podcast is actually completely optional to listen to.

I am not joking.
So, if you're not joking...then you're intentionally lying?
As Dane himself notes, no one has ever banned anything. The Forum Rules you note merely state that the content in the posts on these boards must be family-friendly. There's no problematic content posted onto these boards when the show itself is merely mentioned as an existing Armada podcast (the title itself isn't even inherently problematic, as the "Outer Rim" is indeed a famous bit of space in Star Wars where most adventures take place, and "job" is how many scum and smugglers refer to their work in Star Wars, the double entendre doesn't use any foul language). Now, if one were to post an entire transcript of the show here, sure that would violate the rules, because content including adult language would then be on the boards, and that would be a violation of the rules. But mentioning the show? False.
Talking about the show without reposting the problematic content is within the parameters of the rules, just like a discussion about people's thoughts and reactions to Deadpool 2 in the Off-Topic forums is perfectly acceptable (even if Deadpool 2 is, itself, not a family film and full of adult content). By the "banned content" rule you yourself have suggested, one couldn't even mention or reference any R-Rated film or TV-MA show as part of a post, since those contain adult content. Yet, I've seen ALIENS, for instance, (R-Rating!) referenced here before in discussions about film franchises, good musical scores to listen to while gaming, or as a desired reskin of Descent/ImperialAssault. Someone mentioned Mad Max as a property they'd like to see get released with the Armada maneuvering rules... but Mad Max films are not family friendly!
Hmm... come to think of Game of Thrones is full of adult language, sex, nudity, and violence... guess no one should ever reference Game of Thrones or acknowledge that it exists... quick shut down all the Game of Thrones LCG and BoardGame threads! Last I checked, HP Lovecraft's novels and short stories weren't for audiences of all ages either... shut it down!!!
PS: It is, as far as I know, impossible for someone to accidentally stumble onto an ORJ episode without being first warned of its adult content and intended audience. Through every means to get an episode I've seen, the guys are very specific and explicit to have disclaimers about the adult language contained in the program.

They have never been banned. They have had their post deleted and the author warned. Have you not noticed a lack of forum adverts for new podcasts?

Hey! Possible language difference: is "spit-take" a rogue autocomplete of double take, or is it it's own thing?

A spit-take is when you read, hear or see something and spit out your drink in surprise. It’s similar to a double-take, but messier.
Unless the double-take is so shocking it makes you soil yourself, then it’s messier.

Thanks! What dialect or language is that? Never heard it in the UK.

Lol I live in the UK, but it may originally be American as am I, I’ve been here so long I don’t know if phrases I use are American, British, English-only or Scouse-only (Liverpudlian).
