Well everyone basically knows what happened to the Ghost. Yet, surprisingly Miranda hasn’t been discussed like at all period. Yeah she lost her TLT, and her ability was brought more in line with what it realistically should have been. Her medium base is both an improvement and a challenge. So is everyone really just enjoying the X-wing resurgence so much and put her on a shelf? Is it just burnout, or just unexplored because she isn’t 100 the broken item she was in 1.0?
What happened to the Rebel Monster?
I think Miranda is actually still decent.
But yes, burnout and the appeal of other shiney new tweaks and mechanics are definitely keeping The K-wing on the backburner for all but the most loyal vets.
...the ship model is so ******* ugly...
I just haven't gotten around to trying her or any k-wing yet.
I haven't found the medium bases particularly difficult to get going where I want overall though. I'm having some timing difficulty with them but I'm having that overall because of the changes. I'm also flying more low initiative ships and more ships in the list.
I'm just not sure how to build it or the rest of the list and how to fly it once I do. It looks like you need to trick it out and fly it with a couple of X-wings for escort. I just haven't really gotten to it yet.
Just now, Green Knight said:...the ship model is so ******* ugly...
But at least on the medium base it’s not so awkward to manage.

I painted one in military green and tan and another blue, red and silver like a Cobra Rattler. Both are a massive improvement over the default scheme.
She's actually ok but there's two things that have happened simultaneously:
1) she lost almost all her 1.0 toys (TLT, Harpoons, Adv Slam bombs, regen off turret shots etc)
2) Rebel squads morphed from long drawn out regen wars to face-melting alphas. Wedge does that better, and Luke does attritive endgame better.
The general opinion is she's awful now. General opinion is largely wrong and she's ok (but only ok)... more importantly she doesn't fit what Rebels are trying to do.

This.... and so very UN-Starwarzy

Sounds like an assist. The worst pilot card art easy is Esege Tuketu...I'm thinking a combo of: Flu, Tylenol PM and Cough Syrup must have caused that.
In other news, you can run 5 wardens, assuming you have 5 K-wing models.
I would love to do this just once with all of the k-wings painted in WW-2 bomber schemes Vs a tie swarm or mini swarm.
Its her Initiative as well. If she was I5 I think you would see her pop up more. I4 is just an awkward place to be with all the good I5s out there.
What happened was she became OK not all out busted.
The people playing with her the most in 1.0 are busy flying the hotness in the other factions that are currently stronger meta wise. The rebel players of today are strong fans of the faction who were not necessarily using her much before either

because now u can use Luke and Wedge
Has anyone thought about putting Gonk on her as a way to always pump her attack dice - I have made some lists but I am still stuck on Luke and Wedge, I will get around to her some day
I actively avoided playing her in 1e because I don’t like meta. The people who played her were the meta-seekers and top-tier tournament players (because the game was broken in that you had to fly meta at the top tables to stand a chance).
In 2.0, those people are apparently mostly off flying the cheap or well-priced i5’s.

funny enough, I'm actually flying 5x wardens tonight at our store games night, and I've been getting some surprising results out of Esege and the Wardens as fairly striped down gunships (vet gunners and/or percept co-pilot) as part of other lists.

AND an excessive stack of Rebel Conversion Kits lying around for the cards/dials...
Esege with perceptive copilot is about the only decent role for them. Maybe Miranda with Bomblet. Barrage Rockets is interesting as well. But honestly for the same price you can get an ARC-170 or Wookie gunship and get the same coverage and an extra red dice, not to mention better abilities.
I'd imagine that four wardens with barrage rockets could be pretty solid. Maybe two with seismics and two with proton bombs.
I've found SLAM on the Ks a little difficult to consider on the strategy-side of things.
Either SLAM in on turn 1, let them whack you, then Adv. Torp them Range 1 on the next turn, or some other more primitive utility like just hitting them hard in the first round and then slamming away to escape for a better return engagement.

Yup, exactly the list I have seen used before. Sounds really good and would hog up so much board. The downside is that it requires not only two full Rebel Conversion kits worth of K-Wing materials, and 4 K-Wing models, but another copy of Barrage Rockets on top of what comes with a single Imperial conversion. So, it's no shock it's seeing more play in formats like Vassal or TTS where those extras are available to every player.
This list is a good use of a singular K-Wing. I like it and think it was Top 4 worthy in Australia or one of the other nationals recently.

Doesn't matter, both the VCX and K-wings are not allowed in Hyperspace

Not the only format for competitive play.

Excessive? Don’t you mean completely converting all of my rebel ships?
no, if I was to realistically do this most of the assembly would be done via my FLGS, which has been kind enough to break up the 2.0 conversion kits and pair the contents of them with the 1.0 ships they still have in stock.
Edited by FlyingAnchorsIt's not like people played her because they liked Miranda...

Rubbish, she was my favourite pilot from the films...... 😄

Yeah, and my second favorite had always been Redline!
