The seventh fleet wins with two activations with no activation gimics.. Impressive.. Most Impressive.

It apparently needed every single one of its defensive shenanigans, too... the ISD finished the last game with 0 Shields and 2 Hull... It could have swung to a Bronson victory VERY easily.

This is why i love this game, you can bring almost anything that you want to fly and win.

I know right when people are complaining about how they game is stagnant, just try something new and you might be surprised. I mean I want new stuff but we got so much space to explore so explore it while we have this down time.

Yeah, I'm pretty sick of the general complaints about Armada. The April FAQ has made it incredibly possible to, like others have said, bring a wide variety of lists and have relative degrees of success. I can't really point to a meta, and it's brilliant.

Pre-April, I would never have even begun considering bringing the list I brought (no squads).

Man I look at that first place winner and all I can think of is "How?"
ARE YOU A GOD?!?

Yeah. No Demolisher? How does that even work?

I can’t afford the setup reqs to stream, or I would have... heck, I recorded parts for my own viewing, but there’s no way I can ever upload it.

it is just a matter of slow rolling the ISD abdvletting the squads do work - the glad trails and isn’t a target until it can finish something crippled off.

It has a solid answer to most lists, doesn’t give up points easily, and can put out significant damage over time. MMJ+Bossk can routinely do 8 damage per turn to ships. The ISD is very tanky. It’s meant to outlast the opposition. The ISD is also fast enough to run if needed (BTA Opposition). Against squadron-heavy lists, all of the squadrons do well against opposing squadrons and the ISD can threaten carriers quite effectively. The Gladiator can be tough to take down if you focus everything on the ISD.

Mack played almost the same list in the Toronto Regional and came 4th. He plays that list very well.

What if we turned the 7th fleet shenanigans to 11, and still kept a nice well rounded squadron complement.

Imperial II (120)
• Moff Jerjerrod (23)
• Captain Brunson (5)
• Gunnery Team (7)
• Early Warning System (7)
• Leading Shots (4)
• Quad Battery Turrets (5)
• Seventh Fleet Star Destroyer (5)
= 176 Points

Gladiator I (56)
• Projection Experts (6)
• Seventh Fleet Star Destroyer (5)
= 67 Points

Gladiator I (56)
• Projection Experts (6)
• Seventh Fleet Star Destroyer (5)
= 67 Points

Squadrons:
• Colonel Jendon (20)
• Maarek Stele (21)
• Morna Kee (27)
• Ciena Ree (17)
= 85 Points

I believe the loss of Dengar/Mauler would result in mediocrity. Yes, it can tank slightly better, but is overall worse for wear against both squadron-heavy builds and LMSU builds with token squadron cover. That being said, it can also come down to how you fly it.

I didn't see it the past couple pages, but the Las Vegas regionals happened this past weekend (13 participants).

  1. Nicholas Brown | Total Points: 26 | MoV 745 | SoS: 5.222
  2. Doug Saunders | Total Points : 24 | MoV 675 | SoS 6.889
  3. Corbin Zumpft | Total Points: 24 | MoV 496 | SoS 4.167
  4. Michael Vassallo| Total Points: 21 | MoV 618 | SoS 5.333
  5. Brogan Wassell | Total Points: 17 | MoV 439 | SoS 6.333

I couldn't get the lists for 2-5, though I know #2 was a Motti double ISD, double flotilla, no squad list, and #5 was a Vader double ISD, double flotilla, no squad list.

1's list is this:

Faction: Imperial
Commander: Grand Admiral Thrawn

Assault: Most Wanted
Defense: Fighter Ambush
Navigation: Superior Positions

Imperial II (120)
• Grand Admiral Thrawn (32)
• Strategic Adviser (4)
• Gunnery Team (7)
• Expanded Hangar Bay (5)
• Early Warning System (7)
• Leading Shots (4)
• XI7 Turbolasers (6)
• Avenger (5)
= 190 Points

Gozanti Cruisers (23)
• Minister Tua (2)
• Slicer Tools (7)
• Suppressor (4)
• Electronic Countermeasures (7)
= 43 Points

Gozanti Cruisers (23)
• Hondo Ohnaka (2)
• Comms Net (2)
= 27 Points

Squadrons:
• Colonel Jendon (20)
• Maarek Stele (21)
• Mauler Mithel (15)
• Morna Kee (27)
• Bossk (23)
• Dengar (20)
= 126 Points

Total Points: 386

I think we are at a point of rock paper scissors with armada. Every list has a counter out there. It really depends on what lists are brought and the skill level of the players.

Well, judging by his MoV, he sold his soul to the devil in exchange. :P

I haven't seen the Chicago regionals posted, but I do know a Rieekan list won. Unfortunately I don't have any list data.

If I remember right, there were also two Leia lists in the top eight, with one in the top 3, I think. Does this mean the rise of Rebel Leia lists is coming?

Yeah, @geek19 made at least top 8 with his Leia MSU, but I only managed 10th with my Leia Bae-wings. *grumble grumble* red dice *grumble grumble* The crazy part of my day? Crushing both Thrawn 2-ship fleets I faced 10-1 and 8-3 (and the 8-3 ran with his tail between his legs on his Pryce-ship's last activation) but getting tabled by Ackbar no-squad. Did I mention red dice yet? Because my opponent was getting rerolls of doubles into doubles while mine were rolling 3 blanks in a row. And just for extra salt, Keyan's shot at a shield-less side and with BCC had hit/crit-blank, hit/crit-blank, and hit/crit-blank to try to finish off Home One which then lived until its activation with 2 hull.

Were you the one running double Peltas? I remember seeing at least one double Pelta list around that day with B-Wings, but I never had time to really see that fleet in action. I just thought it was cool to see not one, but two Peltas in a single list a regionals.

Yeah, that was me. The Garm version of the double Pelta took 7th and 8th at Detroit and Indy regionals last year, but @geek19 convinced me to give Leia a try. Because who doesn't want to activate 3-squads with Yavaris every turn?

I've seen what you can DO with double Peltas. There's a reason I won't trash the Pelta; for fear of getting ganked by Mike when I least expect it.

Also, I was 7th, not 3rd (but I'll take top 25%). Winner was obvious Rieekan MSU list piloted by Nathan Coda, who is OP pls nerf.

I was at the regionals in Kansas. (I got 2nd, tied w/ 1st in tournament pts but lost out by 40 mov 😭 ) I know placement data/some lists were collected, but I'm not certain the record is complete.

I know I gave all the fleet lists and the standings sheet to @geek19 at the end of the event (as I was leaving for vacation pronto next morning), I assume he got that information to @Truthiness. Nate Coda did in fact win, which isn't surprising given he's a great player. It was a fun event (I was the TO)!

And @geek19's Leia brain disease is spreading. It seems to infect people wherever he goes. @comatose is the highest-profile new recruit, but that fleet of his is TERRIFYING if you're not super careful against it and Leia turbo-charges those squad commands.

I'm badly behind because of life. All the data entered from last weekend was done by others. I've got the 2 in this thread on my to do list (I at least started Austin ).

I have not, however, seen Chicago. Geek said he got busy as well, which given my current predicament, I completely understand.

Literally sent it to him minutes ago. I can't make fun of him for all the things he's busy with, as real life is BADLY interfering with my Armada life right now.

Also, join the brain disease club. Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaains. Leiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiia.
