They did in Southern California (LA, Arizona and San Diego region) last year. In Northern California our previous best was 12, today we got about 25 with multiple players traveling from out of state and hundreds of miles away in Southern California to attend.

Awesome

Stockport, UK has been inputted.

VSD2 wins NorCal Regional, somebody get @Norsehound's soapbox ready.

About to start round 3 of 4 in Mountain View. Turnout has literally doubled the largest northern California event with travelers from across the western United States.

It’s late and I’m tired, but I think it was 27? I’ll double check tomorrow.

I haven't been back here in a while because I realized I wasn't helping anything or anyone with that soapbox.

I'll only add here that this needs to consider what was in the VSD list and what it had to face. The last time I recall we saw a VSD top out was as a specific counter against Raddus- it crumpled against Rieekan aces the next day. I'd be impressed and interested if this list was able to beat both.

Isn't that true of every list, though? AFAIK, there isn't a ONE-LIST SUPER EVIL UNABLE TO BE BEATEN. They all have holes and weaknesses, and so long as those don't show up to your tournament... Right?

FFG HQ is now inputted. Updated MIA list (Karnek tells me he has the remainder of Portland in hand and will be sending it to me shortly):

Nebraska

Gawler

Paris

Perth

Hawaii 2-4

New Mexico, all but #3

Portland 7-24

London 3-25

Moutainview, CA

yeah, finally got a chance to come home and uploading the info for you now Truth.

Does not compute. How did you end up with 4 rounds...?

Regionals in Uppsala, Sweden. I dont have the full lists but can post it if the TO put them up in their site later.

16 people showed up. I think it was 8 Rebels and 8 Imperial.

1. Raddus MC75

2. Sloane ISD Quasar Gozanti

3. Raddus Liberty

4. Mothma Mc75, Mc30, mc30, CR90A

5. Sloane Pryce and Phantoms

Since we had a quite a few players traveling in for the tourney, they decided that if we came close to 28, we would play a 4th round. We wound up having 26...

We had direct applications to play from at least 28 players and ended up with some no-shows after the schedule had been set.

Moose, I'm aware of your concerns with the way Game Kastle managed the event. If you want to discuss those issues in private I can help you talk to GK in an effort to resolve them.

Whoah, just looked at @Kristjan results from Toronto in more detail. Top 9 are all Imperial! Is that mainly a case of Imperial players doing better or Rebel players switching to Imperials? I see Norm was flying Imperials and was previously a Rebel player mainly...

Imperial squad builds have gotten a major boost to nearly match Rebel squad builds thanks in part to Thrawn and a few other subtle changes between the last release and the last FAQ. This has made the ship selection for Imperials a more effective counter to the fleet composition of Rebels.

This is true, but in my judgement VSDs open up so many holes and weaknesses to be a logical choice in listbuilding. ISDs are superior in every way, more than making up for their jump in cost. The alternatives to whatever the VSD wants to do (Attack power, Carrier roles) are better better or cheaper.

So if there are details of a VSD actually being a good choice in a tournament meta presumably involving the common power lists of the day, I'm interested to hear about it. I'd like to know how the inefficient one actually performed decently.

*shrug*

My turn on Saturday!

I pledge to gather the lists from Bathurst NSW, Australia.

The only regional I will make this year.

Cardiff (UK) Regional tomorrow. I will try to gather the lists, but I will probably need @Kendraam to remind me.

Regionals this weekend:

San Diego, CA

Marietta, GA

Indianapolis, IN

Westmont, NJ

Bathurst, Australia

Brisbane, Australia

Sevilla, Spain

Cardiff, UK

Not sure who will be in Indianapolis. But I can ask for info.

One of us will get Atlanta. Data for the data shrimp!

Ask @comatose or @Capt. Griff. I would've gone but family and weather stuff, so not this year. Was fun last year though.

I have to imagine Indianapolis wil have relatively low attendance as a result of the storm.

Southern California is on lunch ahead of the 3rd and final round. @MandalorianMoose looking strong with two 10-1 murders including an impressive reversing of what probably should have been a table by myself.

Last week it was VSD + Dominator, this week it might be Interdictor + Rhymer. Somebody stop the ride, I'm getting dizzy.
