[MAFIA] - A small town far far away

By EbonHawk, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

i reread today.

i think bertie is suspiciously really pushing this Jabba thing. [that i'm still against] even if it is true because that doesn't seem like a fair game

What's your opinion on Pod?

Odd. I don't know if its due to the format of this game, but something isn't quite normal with his posts.

agreed

whats your opinion of everyone GNIPS?

All that I can say is that I am a vanilla town. I have had difficulty playing as I normally do due to the infinite improbabilities of this game, so my apologies for my poor performance.

If you are insistent on following Jabba's last reactions, then I must

##vote Cal

as I have no other alternative. I would urge you to keep a close eye on Matt and LTD, as they seemed eager to vote with little discussion. I would say the same about Bertie, but he came up with the statement plan.

Dilemma. In a 50/50 better to take a vanilla for what it worth, and for the chances of being scum, but I don't really want to hit a lynchproof. What makes roles more likely and that feels wrong somehow. The situation sucks.

Why the Cal-Ghost thing doesn't seem fair?

if jabba was dead he cant give us any information past that point.

Just now, Matt3412 said:

He didn't as far as I know. Scum did killing him.

a) both are scum so they are done.

b) one of them is so we may lynch him

c) no one is what would make a really good move for scum but not the most likely one, IMHO.

That's the reason I think there is. No the emojis-stupid-stuff.

Well, we need to start choping scummy heads.

Right now my top suspects are Ghost and Caldias. I would go with Caldias but after rereading the d2 he looks a bit more townie. The problem is that Ghost doesn't look scum.

There is also LP

Guys! I must apologise for: a) not understanding what the **** happened on the Night Of Crazy Kills. b) being absent all Saturday (belated Thanksgiving) c) failing to add value overall (including getting my riddle wrong - sorry!).

What do I think?

- that @Caldias and @GhostofNobodyInParticular Seem to have drawn outsized suspicion and whilst I am prepared to vote for them I don’t buy the cases against either of them as proven

- that we have nearly 40hrs left. Each of us can use that time to do a reread and (potentially) take a fresh position minimising to a higher degree bias (either conscious or not)

- that a fast vote favours Scum

- that I am comfortable taking my time now for both debate and consideration.

I read this as the typical scum move of "I agree if you agree but I am ready to tell you all I told you ", but it may be I am trying to really read behind everyone post at this moment.

And again I'm realizing that between lie-detectors, towels around the heads, emojis, etc I am not looking at the vote record!!!

what if its LP and Pod lol

Its just one of those games... I seem to have spent more time waiting to see what the Mod will do next rather than the players...

Im picking on you Gnip because on D1 & 2 you quickly followed me onto votes. On both wagons you seemed more assured that they would flip scum than I did.

@EbonHawk how are you going to resolve Hero's slot?

That was a coincidence. I know I was after you on Jabba, though I didn't follow you, I followed Bertie. I didn't even notice you voting clon before me, and I'm currently skimming through a reread. I was wondering why you were so convinced I was following you.

I'll also point out the irony of you accusing me of following when you explicitly followed Bertie yesterday.

D2 was an awkward one, I knew I was going to be stuck at work allday and not following as closely as possible.

I asked a bout a no lynch, but no one responded and the votes began to fly. Berties seemed the best case presented.

I also suspect GNIP highly, but why are we voting now when there are 40+ hours to go? Is it because we're afraid of the Ravenous Bugblatter?

20 hours ago, LTD said:

40 hours in this game could quickly turn into 4...

19 hours ago, Bertie Wooster said:

Both fair points. Especially LTD. The uncertainty of time is messing with me this game. Anyway, I am also voting GNIP, for reasons which should be obvious if you've read our back and forth.

Do we really have 40 hours? I will unvote to encourage discussion and revelation.

7 hours ago, Bertie Wooster said:

See this post on page 12. You can look for yourself. The time is up at the top.

Now view someone's profile. click on your own username or GNIPs username, or Jabbas username, scroll through activity until you see Jabbas crying faces, and see what time Jabba made the reactions.

GNIP we were voting because 1) time can get slashed unexpectedly, 2) we were worried the Ravenous Bugblatter would do something much worse to Hero and Caldias. I honestly thought it might even kill them for not having a towel wrapped around their heads.

I'm not so worried about those two things now (I am awake now and I should be prepared for any other stuff that Ebon throws at us), so I will unvote for now.

##unvote

Bertie has seemed particularly eager to vote (see also the Jabba votes), yet also remarkably eager to unvote. It feels like he's experimenting for easy trains.

LTD acknowledges the 40 hours, then on the basis that they can quickly change both he and Bertie vote, then shortly thereafter unvote due to the loads of time remaining. It seems erratic and odd. So what if time can change? So long as it doesn't, take your time. If it does, you can change it then. And why unvote because we have 40 hours as if it is news to you? You yourself said you did. It seems hypocritical.

From the rest, I am not getting too much. ovi has been the most pro-town it seems, in that he was the main one actually doing any analysis. Of the 17 pages we have filled up (discounting the sign up page), most of the posts have been jokes, fillers, or votes without explanation/defense. Now, I understand that D1 was a rush to get a lynch in due to the unexpected shortage of time, but in D2 we knew in advance how much time we had. Why were so few people doing anything, either constructive or otherwise? Why were the usually involved players like Cal silent, and why did it seem like players like Pod and LP, who know the game well enough to not get mixed up easily, made simple mistakes and overlooked.misinterpreted simple stuff? This whole game has been wacky, and it seems that everybody was paying more attention to enjoying the theme than actually playing the game.

Bertie in particular, ironically given his LD suggestion, hasn't been very constructive. The rest of his posts seem to be, primarily, jokes or votes.

##unvote

##vote Bertie

for suspicious behavior and a general eagerness to vote easy targets and unvote at the slightest pressure.

i'm just happy no one has been super suspicious of me yet that's new lol

Did we considered those who failed their riddles to do it on purpose?

Well I can't put someone from Obvs in for obvious reasons. I can't replace him with the next dead person, because of the advantage that dead player could have based on their previous role/heros possible roles.

End of the day, unless someone out of game like a Cninja or Broba there isn't anything I can do.

Re Bertie

I still feel like his push on Jabba was justified. Whilst there could be a possibility its scummy, his reaction to me questioning him felt natural when I probed at the time.

Re scum Matt- Yeah you are transparently trying to solve and clarify fact from fiction, your one of my two definate townreads.

Im thinking LTD is town here too, between the two of you you have kept things on track at times in this messy affair.

Re riddles- I hadn't considered it, How do we prove it either way?

Odd. I don't know if its due to the format of this game, but something isn't quite normal with his posts.

At the risk of defending other players under suspicion (and now it seems from Ovi myself!) I must admit that this scenario has made it more challenging to read play styles and engage in normal Mafia social deduction.

To the extent GNIP that I have made “simple mistakes” and “overlooked simple stuff” I freely admit to being distracted by the scenario and events (and yes! Confused by what happened N2!) that I have felt quite a bit at sea in this game.

As for my reads, I don’t favour killing Hero and do rate GNIP as Town. I am unsure of Cal (but not because of suspicion more because I have found it hard to get a clear read on him this game amidst the Improbability explosions!). Will pull my socks up now and try to make more of an effort to help.

I havent opened observers link but was asked about balance before the game.

Oh - and apologies @EbonHawk for missing the vowel thing. It’s been a really rather long day and I couldn’t keep retyping and trying to actually add something of value.

Well i'm glad to say i Passed my Riddle 😃

I passed mine as well.

Ebon, if the lie detector asks about a statement the traitor said regarding his towniness, in the manner of our actions this game, would it come up truth or lie?

I.e. If the traitor said 'I am town' would that be truth or lie? Would it depend on whether he had preciously been lynched when he said it?
