[MAFIA] - A small town far far away

May you show me the piece where this is said? I am reading the setup but I must be missing it. Please, I am feeling pretty stupid. 😅

My bad, you're right; I'd just assumed the Traitor had the same role as Clon's game. Looks like there are different interpretations but this one plays like LP's vampire role last game instead.

okay besides the mass reveal that i think would ruin the fun for the majority of us and ebons hard work.

Anything unusual happen so far in today's posting that you ancient veterans [that i head cannon have been doing this for 10 years] have noticed?

Meanwhile i raise from my little shack just a little ways out of town and decide to go fishing.

Hopefully i can catch my self a scalefish this morning before i gotta get back to my real work.

Well, there are two roles I would like to understand.

Town - Jailkeeper

Town - Universal Backup JailK/Doc (unaware of role)

The Rules of the Roles:

  • (Jailer speaks to his target in the night, it's at the jailers discretion to reveal their own identity.) The Jailers chat is a new doc each night to stop spying. If the jailer kills a town with his role he loses his abilities which fall to the universal backup (UB). The UB cannot join the scum faction.
  • The Jailkeeper sends a PM during the day for who to jail, so they will have a jailed person N1.

I researched all the roles on Mafia Wiki and I think I understand what they do, except Jailkeeper. I've never played a game with this role before. Ebon's post says " If the jailer kills a town with his role he loses his abilities..." How does jailkeeper "kill" a town with his role? Does this mean "target" a town with his daytime PM?

If the Universal Backup becomes the jailkeeper, does he have the same restriction on his abilities?

If scum kill the jailkeeper, does the UB take on his abilities, or no?

Ebon stumbles out of the bar... the miniature SEP field that encases the Bar and is still very much active made me rather forget downing 100 jynnan tonyx's is very much my problem and not someone else's...

While I recover from the self induced near death state I entered upon seeing the battle fleet above us, I've resorted to a drink almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.

It seems to be quite a battle above but all things being considered I'd feel a lot comfortable if we could hide our planet again...

It's times like this I really wish I’d listened to what my mother told me when I was young about fixing the SEP field.

Why, what did she tell you? ’ I hear someone call out from among you..

I don’t know, I didn’t listen.

Checking my leg watch I notice we have less than a day till night time falls

Jailkeeper summary:

During the Day the jailer sends me a PM of a players name.

In the night that player is sent to jail, both roleblocked and protected. They will then enter Jail chat and have to convince the jailer who can kill them, that they're town. If the jailer kills town he loses all powers, if not scum lose a member.

" If the Universal Backup becomes the jailkeeper, does he have the same restriction on his abilities?" Yes.

"If scum kill the jailkeeper, does the UB take on his abilities, or no?" Yes UB is Jailkeeper or Doc only

Reason: LTD is pretty right and quite in the way I do things, lol. I read Mad refuse as honest cause, you know, the very first this way turned "broken" he got hunged (if I am remembering well, which I really bad at). Cal just looked at a scum catched off guard and also teamed up with Mad. I can't say too much about those who came later as the opinion was already seated. But I also would say +1 townie point for Pod cause he was thinking on why LTD said that instead of what he said. Jabba, not sure, maybe he was clarifying a point or just smoking his refusal to engage.

No more reads thus far.

I also have to check the setup, cause I came from a PM from Ebon, I didn't read the setup, but I started to guess we are at Kashyyk, lol

If you say so. Anyone who has played Armada with me (don't think anyone in this game has) can attest that I like a fair, clean game. If someone does something they clearly didn't intend (squadron command on a squadronless list) I don't mind a takeback if it doesn't mean going back to a boardstate we can't recreate, even at tournaments.

A mass claim kind of undermines the spirit of the sleuthing of the game and undercuts a lot of the hard work Ebon did to balance the roles. The mass claim thing is why I shied away from an open set up when I DMed, as it's hard to find a way to balance against role powers as well as mass claiming.

While you bring it up, do you have an opinion on the mass claim thing, Ovi?

What do you plan to do with the scalefish?

Without bastard game master, it is obvious a really good plan. I'll agree with all of you about not using (may feel a bit cheating, I wouldn't use that word actually as it is within the rules) but I cannot blame LTD for pointinf that out. I didn't vote you for being against. I voted you cause I found your post suspicious. I would think the same about Mad if I had never seen argue the same before.

i would like to eat it but since i may or may not have a shellfish allergy it's definitely going to be a risk.

And since the HoloNet hasn't clarified if i would have a reaction its gonna be a fun day.

Well I suppose it's Day One so you got to take what you can get. I give LTD props for pointing it out too, it's clearly an effective strategy with the information we have.

Ltd only scores the single townpoint tho, he could be an arsonist rolefishing the cop for all we know..

Why isn't my Gnip train a thing? Surely you all saw how scummy that role confirm was?

Cop? Do you mean lie detector?

Lie detector yes, all our PR's would be more vulnerable if we start breaking the setup IMO

*To put my view out there, IMO an Open Setup should not be solved via Mass Claims.

The openness is to aid the player base in actual scumhunting due to knowing more variables, which inturn makes closed setups easier to navigate as a player.

You're already the Informed Majority, as opposed to the usual scum Informed Minority.

And it is of course well known that careless talk costs lives, but the full scale of the problem is not always appreciated. I think it’s partly the curiosity, partly a sense of adventure, but mostly I think it’s the fame and the money . . .

Well, as evidenced by the seemingly out of place Fruit Vendor role, there's gonna be more to each role Pm than meets the eye I guess.

It appears something infinitely improbable is about to happen and a fighter from the battle above is hurting its way down towards us... I don't know if anyone has ever heard the bang of their own head but it was once described by Eccentrica Gallumbits as the Best Bang since the Big One.

Luckily for you the saboteurs didn't get into my personal collection, and I have in my possession an Infinite Improbability drive which can get us the **** out of dodge, but I'm feeling cranky and want a hanging so to avoid any unexpected consequences if you hang one of the rabble before 12hrs I'll transport us outta here..

Warning, space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space. Soo we could end up anywhere..

You have 12 now, some things aren't as open as they seem.

😲

@PodRacer , I just realized since @EbonHawk is modding there is no one here to do the obligatory first day vote for you! So I thought I would help you out.

Plus last game you turned out to be a dirty cultest :D

##Vote Clon

OMGUS!

You are definitely doing the flavor justice Ebon.

:D

##vote @PodRacer because Ebon has clearly made him scum so he can laugh when we lynch him
