Constable Zuvio, he is from TFA where he was a background character. He served as the constable and head of the militia of Niima Outpost, the little outpost we see Rey selling off her scrap. Aside from being present when the First Order arrived to try and capture BB-8 he investigated the robbery of a starship at the outpost that seemed to have been conducted by the security droid at the constable's office though after a shootout it turned out that someone had reprogrammed the droid to act as a fall guy. Zuvio aprehended the true criminal sentencing them to life in prison and then had the droid brought back to its original programming and had to continue its duty as a security droid.

Unkar Plutt, he is from TFA with additional information about him elaborated on in the novelization. He was a Junk Boss at Niima Outpost, trading food for scrap, and used thugs to punish those salvagers who would try to sell to others or get uppity with him. After Rey stole the Falcon in her escape he followed after her to Takodana with some thugs with the intent of taking the Falcon back and getting revenge on Rey and BB-8 for causing him trouble. Chewbacca intervened and Unkar Plutt antagonized the wookie to the extent that Chewie ripped one of Unkar's arms off.

Sarco Plank, he is a background character from TFA that was promoted in comics and books leading up to the film's release. During the Galactic Civil War he made his livelihood off retrieving artifacts for his clients, and had a nasty habit of luring in people to their death in the process. He notably went with Luke Skywalker to investigate a temple after the Battle of Yavin, and after Luke helped him get what he wanted he tried to kill Luke though was defeated and plummeted off the temple but survived. During the time of TFA he was on Jakku working as a scavenger and bounty hunter out of Niima Outpost.

Finch Dallow, he is from TLJ. He piloted the Resistance Bomber known as Cobalt Hammer, hence the subtitle, it was the bomber that Paige was a gunner for and the one that was able to survive long enough to drop its payload and destroy the Fullmatrix at the expense of itself.

Edon Kappehl, he is from TLJ. He was the bombardier aboard the Crimson Hailstorm, which was the bomber that activated its bombs and was hit by the wreckage of a TIE/fo which then triggered its bombs that resulted in the destruction of an additional two resistance bombers.

Ben Teene, he s from TLJ. He was the first to tell the flight group that enemy fighters were incoming, he like all the other Bomber pilots died at the battle.

Vennie, she is from the tie in book to TLJ Cobalt Squadron. She was the pilot of the Crimson Cutter, though would fly an A-Wing on occasion, she was assigned to fly a starfighter at D'Qar though if that meant that she was in a bomber or if she was in an A-Wing or T-70 is unknown though she likely died at D'Qar or shortly after in the hangar.

Cat, he is from the same tie in book to TLJ that Vennie is from. He flew as the flight navigator of the resistance bomber Colbalt Treasure but was transferred to the Colbalt Wasp.

Tomax Breen, he is from the Imperial Source Book done by West End Games. He commanded the Scimitar Assault Wing, and under Thrawn designed the Tie Bomber MK 2, and Scimitar Assault Bomber. Due to his success rate in battle he was given free reign though after Thrawn's death he and his unit went into hiding. LEGENDS

Major Rhymer, he is a background character from ROTJ that was identified by the Decipher's Star Wars card game. He flew Scimitar 1 and was evacuating the second Death Star during its destruction. LEGENDS

Captain Jonus, like Rhymer he is a background character from ROTJ that was identifed by Decipher's Star Wars card game. He flew as part of Gamma Squadron before being transferred to Death Squadron's Scimitar squadron where he flew as Scimitar 2. During the Battle of Hoth he had to evac out of his Tie Bomber while searching for the Falcon and was nearly eaten by a space slug. He was last seen evacuating the second Death Star during its destruction. LEGENDS

'Deathfire' McDibs is from Star Wars Galaxies. And thats all we know, but I'd like to imagine when he picks his targets he calls out 'McDibs!'. LEGENDS

Bossk, he is from ESB as one of the bounty hunters Vader summoned to track down the Falcon. Sticking with his new canon self here so...During the Clone Wars he worked a bounty hunter, he worked with Aura Sing and Boba Fett to try and kill Mace Windu as revenge for Jango's death which ultimately ended in failure. He'd go on to work with Fett a few more times as part of Krayt's Claw, Fett's Bounty Hunter syndicate. After the war he went on his own to Outer Rim for work as a bounty hunter, even meeting with Ezra before the events of Rebels and helped take down a corrupt ISB officer. He failed to track down the Falcon and ended up at Jabba's Palace and went out with the others to see Luke Skywalker be fed to the Sarlac, it is unknown whether he perished there or like in Legends survived.

I think one of the bigger differences between his canon and Legend counterparts are that in Legends he seemed more vicious, actively hunting wookies and skinning them and having a more adversary/harsher rivalry with Fett whereas his new canon self being shown in television and comics is aimed at a younger audience and is toned down a bit as a result. At least that is sort of my take on it.

Moralo Eval, he is from Clone Wars. He was odd even at an early age, killing his mother and admitting to it since he was bored which resulted in him living life as a fugitive. While in prison he came up with a plot to kidnap Palpatine, and with a little help from Cad Bane and a surgically disguised Obi-Wan, who had been sent in to stop the plot, he was able to escape after some trial and effort which is when he bought and flew a YV-666 to escape with his group from Anakin and Ahoska, Anakin under the belief the man who Obi-wan was posing as actually killed Obi-wan as well that was Obi-wan's cover and bid to gain reputation for the mission so he had to fake his death. In the end they ended up at a contraption that Moralo Eval created to create a team to kidnap Palpatine. During the contraption's tests he disgraced himself and ended up as the getaway driver for the mission while Cad Bane was put in charge, ultimately the plan failed thanks to Obi-wan and Eval was taken back into custody.

Latts Razzi, she is from Clone Wars. During the Clone Wars she was a part of Krayt's Claw and after Assaj killed one of their members they blackmailed her into filling the guy's slot on the team for a job. The job involved transporting cargo on a hover train to a wealthy official with them having to protect it from 'savages'. She and alot of the others on the team ended up getting knocked off the train with Assaj ending up finding out that their cargo was a kidnapped woman from the group attacking them whom she released before going her own way. She ended up continuing to work with the group and was approached by Quinlan Voss to find Ventress after the Jedi Order gave him orders to try and assassinate Dooku, with Boba giving up Ventress' last known whereabouts to the Jedi. She and the rest of Krayt's Claw were later seen when Ventress enlisted their help to rescue Voss after he had been captured though the mission ended up in failure with her and the other county hunters fleeing when the job started to go south.

Up next will be the Decimator and Rebel YT-1300.

Rear Admiral Chiraneau, he was a background character from ROTJ that was expanded upon in the Decipher card game. He was originally a Tie Fighter pilot and became an ace that was eventually promoted by Piett with him serving as a personal adviser to Piett during the Battle of Endor. As would be expected from that he ended up dying when the Executor crashed into the second Death Star. LEGENDS

Captain Barrow Oicunn, he is from ROTS where he was aboard a background character aboard the Venator overseeing the initial construction of the first Death Star. In legends he was from Humbarine where he served as part of the local defense fleet but during the Clone Wars the Republic siphoned forces to help their war effort leading to Grievous attacking the planet, killing his family and caused the Republic to abandon his homeworld. He decided to serve the main Republic navy and was present during the Battle of Coruscant aboard the Mas Ramdar, a Heavy Dreadnought, and being disillusioned by the Republic welcomed the Empire and rose through the ranks. In the new canon he was part of the Republic's navy and found the Republic weak and welcomed the new regime resulting in him being one of the first imperial officers to serve protecting the Death Star secret project.

Since we all likely know the YT-1300 pilots I figured I'd do a little something different and just do a quick run down of their legends selves and their new canon selves through the OT era.

Legends: He was born on Corellia and orphaned at an early age, though would later find out he was a descendant of the king who introduced democracy to Corellia, and was picked up by the pirate named Garris Shrike who treated him cruelly. During his time there he was taken under the care of Dewlanna, a wookie who served as Shrike's cook, the wookie teaching Han how to speak the wookie language. Eventually Han escaped from Shrike and took up work as a smuggler, it was during this point he met a woman named Bria Tharen that he fell in love with; however, due to her duty to the Rebel Alliance she left him. He returned to Corellia and joined the Imperial Academy with the hopes of becoming an Imperial pilot, he'd go on to study at Carida and was notably skilled at flying even being able to safely land a malfunctioning orbital landloader and in the process saved other cadet lives. He went on to graduate at the top of his class but while assigned as an aid he stunned his commanding officer to save Chewbacca and let the wookie escape.

Han was court martialed and dishonorably discharged causing him to go back to smuggling now with Chewie following him due to the life debt. After some smuggling jobs, including one that saw his first ship destroyed by Imperial fighters he entered a Cloud City Sabacc Tournament where he played against Lando and won, winning him the Millennium Falcon. Han then went on to work numerous jobs, eventually working for Jabba leading up to the events of the OT.

Canon: He was born on Corellia where his father worked in a factory constructing ships like the YT-1300 line, the man even bringing Han to see them at somepoint but eventually the man abandoned Han which resulted in Han ending up working for White Worms as a scumrat and met a fellow scumrat, Qi'ra. Eventually the two were involved in a romantic relationship and decided to try and get off planet by selling coaxium for credits, due to various circumstances they had to try and escape but Qi'ra was captured and to prevent his own capture he joined the Empire and was given the last name Solo by the recruitment officer Drawd Munbrin. Arriving on Carida he was given a serial code and was trained as a Swamp Trooper until he stole a Tie Fighter and while was disciplined his pilot skills were acknowledged to the extent that they were the only thing keeping him in the program until he attempted to save another cadet's life but at the expense of crashing his fighter into a hangar and destroying astromechs and equipment that resulted in his expulsion and forcibly drafted into the Imperial Armored Division as a Swamp Trooper on Mimban.

From here he'd go on to get thrown into a cell to a Chewbacca that the division had been feeding others to, but Han was able to communicate with the wookie and they both escapred and joined Tobias Becket's group in the attempted heist of coaxium from the Empire, which failed and ended up with him meeting with Qi'ra again and taking on the job to get coaxium from Kessel. To get there they needed a ship and convinced Lando and L3-37 to take on that role. After some difficulty they got their coaxium at the expense of L3-37 being destroyed, and having to fly out of the path to avoid Imperial forces which in turn resulted in the Falcon getting badly damaged. He reneged on his deal to Dryden and gave the coaxium to Enfry's Nest to help her Rebel effort, and while he was able to get off the planet well enough Qi'ra stayed behind and turned out to work for Maul. Han then played Lando again in Sabacc and won the Falcon, leading to a few adventures before the events of the OT.

Legends: Lando, was quite the varied man at times a smuggler, gambler, rogue, mercenary and con artist. He started playing Sabacc when he was underage, skipping school to join in on games earning him some credits and by the age of twenty-seven played Cix Trouvee in a game of high stakes Sabacc and won a battered Millennium Falcon. Not being a pilot he sought out a good pilot to help give him some lessons which turned out to be Han Solo. After getting a few lessons Lando began doing simple smuggling runs. After being advised to go to Oseon 2795 he ended up winning the droid Vuffi Raa which he'd go on a few adventures with. Despite many failures and successes he'd end up playing against Han in a game of Sabacc where he would lose the Falcon, after this due to a number of reasons his friendship with Han was soured until they met years later. Sometime after the Battle of Yavin he would be doing some work as a shipper using his ship Mama Tried. While at Tannab they were raided by pirates and the defense fleet proved to be incompetent so taking on a wager that would see him winning a brewery after he used his cargo of conner nets on the pirates alongside a few ice chunks that thanks to a tractor beam were applied directly to the cockpit, killing a good number of the attackers. Continuing his various endevors he'd eventually see himself on Bespin again in another Cloud City Sabacc game where he'd eventually win the baron administrator job from the man who occupied the role before, thus leading up to the events of ESB.

Canon: Lando started out as a man focused on smuggling and gambling while piloting the Falcon, a ship he wound when he was twenty on a subtropical planet. At somepoint he joined up with L3-37 as his copilot with the two going on a fair few adventures, which Lando made sure to record in his personal journal. He notably went on a adventure that saw him helping free slaves from the Imperials. During this incident the Falcon was impounded on Vander where Lando would go on a short retirement to play sabacc that resulted in Han, Chewie, Qi'ra, and Tobias showing up and hiring him as their pilot so they would have a ship for their coaxium heist from Kessel. During the heist L3-37 was destroyed after distupting the plan to start a droid revolution, and the Falcon was subsequently heavily damaged thanks to Han's efforts to escape from Kessal and the Imperials. Understandably upset Lando waited for the others to get paid so he could get his share but seeing Enfry's Nest and her group decided to cut and run. Sometime later Han would play Lando in Sabacc which saw Lando lose the Falcon to Han. After losing the Falcon, Lando would end up on Lothal where he planned to try his hand at running a Puffer Pig farm where he'd run into Hera and the Spectres.

Legends: During the Clone Wars he was captured by trandosians and held as a captive to be hunted down but by working with his fellow captive Ahsoka and a number of Jedi Padawans they were able to escape. He went on to help command wookie forces during the battle of Kashyyyk, and helped Yoda escape from the planet. After order 66 Chewie joined a group of smugglers that set out to try and look for other Jedi survivors but it ended up unsuccessful though a number of survivors did make their way there and the Empire attacked Kashyyk in response with Vader striking down anything between him and the Jedi the resulted in Vader discovering Starkiller. The Empire came in and started to enslave the wookies after the incident with Chewie getting away and joining the smugglers from before with the idea of striking back at the Empire as he could as runaway rather than a slave. He had a few other adventures, including getting captured by Trandosians again though was able to unite the caged wookies to look past their clan allegiances to get them all free and attack their captors. He then began to hunt slavers with the intent of freeing wookies resulting in a botched attempt that resulted with his run in with Han where the two would go on to a number of adventures together leading up to the OT.

Canon: During the Clone Wars he was captured by trandosians and held as a captive to be hunted down but by working with his fellow captive Ahsoka and a number of Jedi Padawans they were able to escape. He went on to help command wookie forces during the battle of Kashyyyk, and helped Yoda escape from the planet. Shortly after the Battle of Kashyyyk he was captured by Trandosians along with other wookies and given over to the Empire. He tried to escape but failed and was sent to another planet and had another opportunity but gave it up to help save a fellow prisoner which saw him moved again this time to Mimban where he'd run into Han Solo.

So, for the OT YT-1300 pilots, do people prefer their new canon or legends histories, and why?

The problem with Legends (for me) is the overly-complicated and excessively overlapping stories. According to Legends Law, all stories MUST incorporate one of the major characters from the Trilogy, or all characters must have a detailed backstory that ties in with something else of GALACTIC importance.

The end result is that I'm not sure how Legends Han Solo, Leia, and Luke manage to get up in the morning after 25 continuous years of galaxy-saving.

I can see that, Legends does suffer a bit from that since writers wanted to use the characters from the films for the most part, I mean that is the reason that the T-65 was kept around for so long. To an extent I can understand it too, like if you thought this was your one chance to write for Star Wars you'd probably want to use what you liked from Star Wars.

I personally prefer the Legends version of Han's background, even if it is silly that he is related to some royal family which reeks of someone wanting to just reaffirm how important Han was by bloodline rather than having him be able to standup based on his actions. Lando's background I sort of like a mix, I find it a little silly that he personally was trained by Han to pilot the Falcon but like his various exploits and am not exactly a big fan of L3-37 either so that affects it a little. Chewie's background I think I again like Legends but that is just due to it being a bit more extensive but that could easily change as more stories are written to add to the new canon.

I felt that the whole rumor thing was a case of them playing to Legends but making it so it was a case of someone trying to sell merchandise, stories, or etc... related to Han to make him seem even more interesting from a storied perspective rather than it being a case of Han actually being related to the prince. I mean, if he is can you imagine the coincidence that the last name given to you by some random Imperial was your real last name?

That's one reason I loved the X-Wing series. Major characters like Han and Luke make appearances, but they're not the main characters of the story. You really get the feeling that the Rebellion is bigger than just a couple of heroes.

Legends (Before The Clone Wars CG show): Grievous, he is from ROTS and was the supreme commander of the droid army. He was originally born as a Kaleesh named Qymaen Jai Sheelal who learned tactics and battle fighting against the Huk. During the conflict he met a female Kaleesh swordmaster with the two getting close before she was killed by the Huk at which point he renamed himself Grievous and led his people to defeat the Huk, pushing them from their planet and then going to the Huk's homeworld and conquering it causing other of his race to see him as a demigod of sorts. It did not last as the Huk cried to the Republic and got the Jedi to come and remove the Kaleesh, sending them back to their world to starve. Grievous would take up work for the Banking Clan as an enforcer to try and help his people as best he could but the Huk attacked his homeworld again. Dooku seeing Grievous' skills wanted them for the coming Separatist war effort so a bomb was arranged on Grievous' ship critically wounding him with the CIS taking him and giving him his cybernetic body with the Republic being blamed as the source of the bomb.

Grievous was then trained in light saber combat, and went on to wreck havoc on the Republic over the three years of the Clone Wars, killing many Jedi and taking their light sabers to add to his collection and overall being feared as a savage, merciless brute and tactical genius. He led the assault on Corsucant near the end of the Clone Wars where he personally went and captured Palpatine, cutting down his clone and Jedi escort but as he was about to make his way to his ship his chest was crushed by Mace Windu leading to his 'cough'. He'd capture Anakin and Obi-Wan during their attempt to free Palpatine but would end up having to escape from the ship when things began to turn against his favor retreating to Utapau. On Utapau he'd meet his end at Obi-Wan's hands. His body was collected by clone troopers and eventually was taken from the storehouse he was put in with his deceased organic bits being replaced and being turned into a droid that met an untimely fate to a number of spacers, ultimately his face mask would end up in Thrawn's possession.

Canon: Grievous, he is from ROTS and was the supreme commander of the droid army. He was originally born as a Kaleesh warlord and due to an accident would require cybernetic parts, though the episode Grievous' Lair portrays the idea that he replacing parts of his body over time to become stronger. Once he was fully cybernetic he was trained by Count Dooku in lightsaber combat before becoming the supreme leader of the CIS' military, leading the front against the Galactic Republic. He was known for his hatred of the Jedi and killed several of them and taking their sabers as trophies over the course of the war. During the war he was involved with countless battles but most notably was the use of the Malevolence which plagued the Republic until it had been damaged by Anakin's efforts which led to its destruction, the attack on Kamino that ultimately ended in failure, the Battle of Dathomir that led to the slaughter of the Nightsisters, and his raid on Coruscant where his forces were able to capture Palpatine. He'd capture Anakin and Obi-Wan during their attempt to free Palpatine but would end up having to escape from the ship when things began to turn against his favor retreating to Utapau. On Utapau he'd meet his end at Obi-Wan's hands.

Wat Tambor, he is from ATOC. He was a member of the CIS and the representative of the Techno Union. During the Clone Wars he was involved with a number of operations, the first being Ryloth where he was in charge of the occupation but due to his greed ended up not evacuating in time with his tactical droid leaving him behind to be captured by Mace Windu. The next standout one was of his work and interest in the captured Clone Trooper Echo who he had in a stasis chamber and was able to extract various bits of the clone's information which helped Trench during the battle of Anaxes. That was unit Clone Unit 99, also known as the Bad Batch, came in and rescued Echo. As the war raged on he and the rest of the council went to Utapau before being told to relocate to Mustafar where they would meet their end as Darth Vader cut them down.

Captain Sear, he is from the Kanan comic series. He was a member of the CIS and obtained the layout of the Jedi Temple from Cad Bane with the intent of destroying it and killing the Jedi there using miniature explosives. While he tried to do this he was confronted by a padawan Kanan, or rather more accurately Caleb Dume, and his master Depa Billaba who were able to destroy the explosives before they could be used to hurt anyone. Cornered and refusing to be spared by the Jedi Sear jumped from the temple to his death.

Haor Chall was the company responsible for creating the Vulture Droids, the Sheathipede-class shuttle, the Hailfire droid, and the landing craft used by the CIS and Trade Federation as seen in TPM.
