Target Lock Clarification

By Haddarack, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If I put a target lock on a player but do not use it can I still choose other actions in future turns? I understand I am not supposed to be able to target multiple players. But can I do other actions like drawing a focus token for my ship or barrel rolling?

Or can I not perform any other actions in future turns until I use my target lock?

Hope this makes sense the way I asked!

Thank you!

Having a lock on something does not prevent you from doing actions in future turns.

Once you get a lock, it stays and does not prevent any other actions in later rounds. In fact, you can even RE-ACQUIRE a lock on the same ship later on to trigger other effects.

For some reason I feel a need to point out that you aren't required to use your lock at the first opportunity you have to do so.

Indeed. Also you can give up the lock you have on a ship to lock a different ship.

and once a die is re-rolled (for ANY reason), it cant not be re-rolled again
