Personally, with all the Ties I would have to go with #2 for Howlrunner. That re-roll adds up fast.

Yeah that is definitely the 'brute force' list of the bunch and probably my go-to.

I haven't flown Inferno squad at all though. Anyone have any experience with them they could share?

My experience is limited, so grain of salt..

Cool as they are, they are still ties to they need back up and a way to get the damage out on other ships. Verso can save one of your pilots, once. Once enemy ships are damaged, Del and Hask can be nasty, but without the firepower to get that first hit, it is very tricky to bring someone down. I flew the 4 with all upgrades for a fluffy list, but I do not recommend that without backup. I got murdered. They are still ties and will melt to heavy firepower.

My experience makes me think I want Howlrunner and Seyn in the same list, and I think a mini swarm (6 ties) could work but I was going to try Inferno and a reaper first. I don't think Vader does much for Inferno in particular, he is a bit of a selfish pilot, but Zerik Storm could play well with Seyn and Howlrunner. Just thoughts but like I said, limited flight hours.

Thanks for the input! I ran list #2 last night and was pretty happy with it. I still wish I had room for supernatural on vader though! Maybe I should drop an Academy for supernatural + bid? I’m not thrilled about losing a ship though...

Also there is no Zertik allowed in Yavin format!

Too many formats! I mean, that is good but I get them mixed up. Still, I may try Zertik and Seyn in an open format down the road.

I haven't flown Vader enough to tell, but isn't supernatural reflexes a little redundant on him?

No, its practically required for his cost.

Yes it is redundant, but it is still be best way to keep him alive and out of arc. Some folks are considering hate on vader as an alternative but supernatural is still the best option for keeping him alive and useful.

I've had good luck with this list, with a nice bid Vader gets to fly first like he wants to, and then you chain swarm tactics with howl so all your Ties shoot at I5 helping wampa to shoot and keep his 3rd die and put damage cards on something to trigger Gideon's 3rd die.

(70) Darth Vader
(12) Supernatural Reflexes
(3) Fire-Control System
Points 85

(40) "Howlrunner"
(3) Swarm Tactics
Points 43

(30) "Wampa"
Points 30

(30) Gideon Hask
(3) Swarm Tactics
Points 33

Total points: 191

Playing at a Yavin event myself this weekend, so planning to bring a bunch of TIEs as well.

I started playing around with Inferno + Soontir a while back (the whole team), but then tried a few variations and ended up with Iden/Del/Wampa/Howlrunner. Except when beinf blown apart by TrajSim bomvs, it's loads of fun :)

For the Yavin thing, I thought I could try Kagi, on account of all the rebel torps that might find their way there. Still not sure though.

This is where I'm at

Yavin List

(48) Captain Kagi
(3) Tractor Beam
Points 51

(40) "Howlrunner"
(3) Swarm Tactics
Points 43

(40) Iden Versio
(1) Crack Shot
Points 41

(30) "Wampa"
Points 30

(30) Gideon Hask
(1) Crackshot
Points 31

Total points: 196

Good luck with yours! :D
