New Character: Lich Priest

Lich Priest

Strength: 2, Craft: 4, Fate: 2, Lives: 4

The Lich Priest begins the game with a spell of his choice.

When the Lich Priest loses a life he may gain a spell if his craft allows.

When the Lich Priest loses a life, he may roll a dice if he chooses. 1= He may make another player in the same region lose the life instead, 2-5 = He loses the life as normal, 6 = He loses the life as normal and misses his next turn.

nice. i like the idea of gaining something though losing life. why priest though? id just go with lich. liches are inherently magic (extremely). id give him some sort of spell gaining ability, or ,may add 1 to die roll when praying in the graveyard. just a couple thoughts i had. id like to see the finished character

you might also want to switch the #1 and #6 die roll effects, to keep it the same as other cards in the game. ones are always bad.

I think I would rather keep his spellcasting ability the way it is. After all, he starts with a spell of his CHOICE which is pretty darn nasty by itself, and even though it is a bittersweet way to gain a spell, I think he will have a fairly easy time of gaining spells while playing the game with his 2nd ability ... just not the traditional way of gaining them.

you may be right. test him out and see how he does. since most liches come about through powerful and potent magic, id still give him some small advantage for spell gaining. he will gain spells through loss of life, but that wont equal the spell drawing of say the gypsy, warlock, or wizard,,, and hes at least on par with them as far as magical ability goes. i think id go with adding one to his prayers in the graveyard, but it would suck if you turned good.....of course, you could say he must remain evil. : )

The taking of a life anywhere in the region sounds a bit too powerful for game mechanics in my opinion. Maybe within an adjacent square.

Looking at end-game scenarios the life taking ability could steal you the game with doing nothing other than losing the a life. I think it needs a re-work on this ability.

Maybe he can steal the life of a follower instead or gain a spell.

He should not be able to use this ability unless he has two lives at the time of losing a life. I.E. Can't lose his final life and be saved by a dice roll.
