Deck Thinning

By debiant, in KeyForge

Has anyone had any luck with deck thinning strategies? Archive/Purge seems like it could synergize well with some decent card draw.

Add a Skippy Timehog and Scrambler Storm and you can pretty much shut down anything your opponent had plannedYour opponent purges your archive? No problem, that's your junkyard anyway. A deck of 36 cards makes it seem like a viable strategy.

I'm thinking Untamed/Logos/Dis, Dis/Logos/Mars or something along those lines, but other factions may have added benefits.

I have a deck that (admittedly I haven't played yet) that uses archive stuff ... Nova Archeologist, Martians make Bad Allies, Sample Collection, Mass Aduction, 3x Yxilo Bolter, Ganymede Archivist, Sloppy Labwork and Knowledge is Power that looks fun but might suffer from getting the Artifact just killed off. Archiving as much as you can through various means and getting 10+ Aember a turn seems like fun.

Archiving is the mechaninc that I'm most excited about. Especially if I can get a deck able to archive cards with consistency while developing my game. That way you are removing cards from your hand, wich makes you draw more and dig through your deck while also building up an explosive turn.

From what I saw even a 1-2 card being archived lead to a good turn (and like mentioned allow you to dig for specific cards). Let's say you use 3 Logos cards. If one allows you to archive, that means you are drawing 4 cards (if you don't have any chains). One more card can be huge in a 36 card deck.

Also curious about the potential os archiving mitigating chains in strong decks, since it allows you to "reserve" cards from hand and take a bigger turn.

Agreed, Mars is great for purging your own creatures for benefit, Logos is great for draw/archive, so those for sure.

I have The Girl that Punctually Realizes Castles which utilizes both Purge and Archive to decent effects

True, but your deck purges the opponents. I think op was talking about thinning your own deck.

Like there would a significant advantage to remove all cards from your weakest house for instance. I considered it, but I do not have the deck for it. Although I think it probably exists someplace in Mars.

I think it's the greatest strategy ever, Everyone should do it!

Unrelated, I have 3 Dysania in my deck

I have a deck with mars/logo/brobnar that had 10 cards purged by the end of the game. I really does help make the deck consistent, when I'm able to get rid of most of the brobnar cards (when things go well)
