So the Aurore? Large or huge?

Spoiled in the mining guild sentry.

its supposedly 10 meters longer and wider than the ghost I’m hoping its in the same catagory as the ghost as a very large ship but not huge.

actually if I trust wookiepedia its 52.3m long and the YV-666 is 47.4m long

What do you think? Does 5 meters of length push it from large to huge?

Do you think it will have a ship ability/pilot ability/upgrade card to give it some asteroid avoiding ability?

Maybe.

Either is good, as long as it comes in School Bus yellow.

I think it will probably be large, although I want it to be huge. (That’s if it’s realesed 🤞 )

Blergh.

It's such an ugly ship.

It's like a low-res Firefly, or a Sandcrawler in space.

Why, CEC, why is the YV series so ugly?

I would lean toward likely as it showed up in clone wars and rebels as a slaver ship, and its showing up now as a mining guild ship. Too many tie-ins to ignore it.

the real question is will it be in slaver colors? Or are we getting the magic school bus?

I would think that it would be the Mining Guild paint scheme as that was is on the card and also it would fit in with the Mining Guild TIEs.

We might be getting it in CIS colors (Blue on Grey) if they do add it.

A matter of personal aesthetic. I personally like the looks of the YVs much more than the YT flying saucers with poky bits.

Why the heck was a scum tie needed

Because they are built to be solid industrial tools for hard work, not fancy toy to make one feel cool.

That is one ugly ship. It would give Scum its second Huge ship, if it were to both be released and be Huge, giving all three original factions 2 Epic ships. I definitely would prefer a different ship to get the nod as the second Epic ship for Scum, but that's ok I guess. It would fit with the Scum theme of using what you have and/or re-purposing ships to make them into combat platforms.

The alternate option, of just making it another very big Large ship like the Ghost, is one I don't think is a good idea. The Ghost has had a lot of problems, specifically with how it fits onto its peg/stability.

1. By proper scale, it probably can't really exist as a large base. It's 20% bigger than the Ghost in every direction, and the Ghost is already really pushing it.

2. Just shrink it. They ought to have just shrunk the Ghost in scale to be only a little bigger than a Lancer or YT-1300. If they want this Aurore to be a large-base in game (I'm not super excited by it...), shrink it.

Because it's cool....

It looks really cool, the paint job is awesome and I am pumped!

Large hopefully, which also means hopefully the Gauntlet/Kom'rk will be added as well since it is also pretty big.

Well put. :)

The Kom'rk is larger than the Aurore in width by about 10m. My dislike for the aesthetic fully set aside, the Kom'rk being a huge base with a nimble dial would work for me.

Yep! I'm getting one or two of these, and I rarely play S&V. These look good!

Because there are some that like function over form? Not every ship is a nubian. Some folk can only afford an ugly economy model. Also, when carrying slaves, I doubt the Zygerrians cared what they came in.

Real world answer; it is easier to model and render?

TIE-ins...I see what you did there...

As far as the ship size, it seems to be more large than huge, but then it has a LOT of cargo space, so maybe huge would fit. My real hope is a Gauntlet before this school bus, though I really like the school bus - but I love the Gauntlet. :)

I think it makes more sense a Huge ship because of it's role. It's similar to the rebel transport but with just the one set of cannons as standard armament. Being a scum ship, it could have some room for customization to get more weapons, I suppose. Then the other types of customization would be things like different sensor systems or special cargo or something like that. It's a closer approximation, I would think, than comparing it's role in-game to any of the other epic ships. It also almost feels more like it should just be a scenario token, honestly.

As just a large ship, it would be incredibly boring, unless given lots of room for customization. I'm not sure how much you can give before it's too much.

Just do the Kom'rk anyhow.

IDGAF how long Wookieepedia says it is. On-screen, it's about 3 times the width of a Fang fighter. Three Fangs wide and three Fangs long is a totally reasonable large-base ship.

Of course, that'd be the HWK size BS argument all over again.

Honestly, one of my favorite background trends in the new canon is the proliferation of YV-style freighters. They've been popping up all over the place. The YV-2400 ugly in the Poe Dameron comics deserves special mention.

So beautifully ugly.

It actually lists two sizes on Wookieepedia. 68 and 53. I'd be very happy to get a slightly down-scaled model of the smaller version as a large ship, personally.
