so i'm curious about something that i thought of but haven't seen post here in the threads.
for force choke you can't choke commander rank units and operative rank units (that part is easy to understand) and it only has the symbol for the commander and operatives.
my next part refer to when you loose your last commander or if your playing the operations that FFG has put out that lets start with no commander you still have to desinate a trooper as a commander in order to lay down command cards.
this trooper per the rules gets the follow:

1. gets a commander token put beside it on the field (the green and white token)

2. replaces the corps token with commander token.

3.A unit that has been promoted to commander does not retain its previous rank. It is considered to be a commander and to have the rank of commander for all game effects and game play purposes.

so would vaders force choke work on that unit and also would this only be the leader of that unit or the entire mini as the rest are consider part of that unit? so if a trooper unit has 6 troopers left would all 6 be protect from the force choke or is it just the leader?

The entire unit would indeed be protected from Force Choke, since Commander is a unit rank. As you pointed out, the promoted unit loses its Corp designation and becomes a Commander instead, which is not a legal target for Force Choke.

Granted, if Vader is close enough to Force Choke he could probably just walk up to them and swing for the fences.
