I was told turrets are unplayable.

And two-ship lists.

(This list is like a month old right?)

Wazat and Dreadai have been running the pairing for a bit (Wazat has been trying to get Leebo, Roark and 1 more squad mate to work as well), Dreadai took a similar list to the Nerf Herder iirc. Their input might be useful. :)

It made the cut at Australian Nationals over the weekend...I think?

I ran Leebo with Roark yesterday with much success, though my opponent was not flying any munitions. It fixes the biggest problem that the offensive large base ships currently have, which is that 1 attack per round (or splitting fire on two attacks) is not worth the cost of 2 decent jousters. Once Dash or Leebo can attack the same target twice in a round, it puts them closer to the power level of 2 ships at the same point cost.

It's a gimmick list, where the gimmick is that if you don't know how to approach it your face melts off.

It rapidly gets worse when you play it against people who've seen it before - diminishing returns are a real problem for the list.

Until you suss it though, yeah your face gets real toasty.

I've played against a similar list with Leebo quite a bit. Range control is critical, and I've had the most success massing my squad against the YT-2400 first. It takes damage pretty easily and doesn't have THAT much HP. A lot of people have tried burning the support down first, but if you do that you're still taking 4 dice to the face for awhile.

Am I the worst sort of player if I think this looks really fun?

Like, I'm not even talking competitively I just think the idea of a ship that can land on a rock, not have to roll for damage, remove a target lock if it had one on it and then shoot at I7 twice at the same ship with 5 dice, a focus on each shot, the potential for a co-ordinated target lock on one of them where the opponent doesn't get the obstructed bonus green die and has to roll one fewer die in addition is just hilarious. I'm sure it would be infuriating as **** to play against, especially given that it kinda breaks every single one of the basic rules. But just triggering that combo once would be amazing for me.

Obviously it breaks when your I4, tokenless, 5HP 2 agility ship dies, but man it's hard to throw that many red dice at a single target with two or even three ships.

Not going to run it any time soon, though. I've only just joined a new X-Wing club and I'm really not ready to be the guy arguing all the stupid ignore obstacles rules and FAQs that basically amount to 'Dash can do whatever he wants'.

And outside of the club I'd be running it against my friends who I'm trying to get into the game, and who have only played a grand total of about 5 times between them. No way I'm pissing them off with that sort of NPE.

I'd love to play it against Palob. Even though he can steal one of Dash's focuses, if you also have a lock the expected damage across both shots is still 6.25. Enough to wipe the smirk off that smug git's face for sure.

@Boom Owl , can you really choose to "normal" attack (at 7, because of Raork) BEFORE choosing to Han attack at 7 (thus avoiding the "cannot attack from this turret again" rule)?!

If it's a loophole in the rules, it looks like one that will be patched up with an FAQ soon...

I know we are talking about Dash, but quick question: What movie/show are those gifs from? (I really like Jeremy Clarkson)

It was actually specifically confirmed to work in an FAQ, sooooo....

It's already been FAQed.

And it's confirmed to work. It's just not in the Rules Reference yet.

Jeremy Clarkson is in precisely zero of those gifs.

Both are English actor Robert Hardy as Cornelius Fudge in the Harry Potter series.

Unless you were just expressing your appreciation of JC tangentially, of course.

Harry Potter. Order of the Phoenix, I think?

Aside from the player fielding this deciding which order abilities their ships have that trigger at the same time resolve, Han is a bonus attack done at init 7. Bonus attacks take place during the aftermath step of the ship's engagement. Roark boosts their target to engaging at I7. So Roark boosted Dash/Leebo/whoever would shoot first then Han's effect would be resolved in the aftermath step of that attack. :)

Is there a reason I can't put Tactical Officer on The Moldy Crow in the official App?

Yes it needs s coordinate action.

It’s good but not great. It relies entirely on matchups and variance. As an average player I flew it to 2-4 ignominy at nerfherder. I could have gone 4-2 with better strategy and target choices in two games and a bit of luck

As others have said, you will likely lose to anyone who has faced it before
