Zero Command ISD

By Thrindal, in Star Wars: Armada

I was playing around with fleets on the Warloards Fleet Builder and kind of stumbled on a combo.

Simply...

Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer (120 points)

- Admiral Piett ( 22 points)
- Sovereign ( 4 points)
- Wulff Yularen ( 7 points)

Piett could be on another ship but with Wulff and Sovereign you can instantly change your token to whatever you want and use it as a full command each turn (except turn one most of the time, there are a few objectives that give your ships tokens before turn 1, or Hondo if you really need 2 commands turn one). So you were using it to run Squads but all your squads are dead? Change it to Engineering and heal up. Going into turn 6 and you need to have the best chance possible of killing that one ship? Switch to CF.

I am sure other combos will be found but I particularly liked his one.

Just Reducing the build to its basic components.

It does seem to have interesting potential. Not 100% sure that sovereign and Yularen work together but still worth trying

Why wouldn't they work together? Yularen just lets you keep your token when you spend it. Sovereign lets you change the token to anything you want during the Ship Phase.

Add:

Interdictor Suppression Refit,
Aresko
Interdictor title

100pts

I like Aresko, in that case Piett would be on the Interdictor. Probably wouldn't even need the Comms net Gozanti in that case.

Might just be me misunderstanding how sovereign works

Thats a good addition and would get enough out of Piett to make him worth it. On the other hand - yet another reason to look at MS1?

MS1 or Ion Cannon Batteries are a counter for sure. If Piett is on the Interdictor he would still get to go once with MS1, twice if you are first player. with Ion Cannon you would probably need a Comms Net Gozanti or Hondo somewhere as a safety net. It will be interesting as neither of those upgrades see much play at the moment but could be worth while in the future.

While it's true, it will force a certain activation order than may not be warranted otherwise. Also, another way to get 0-command SSD is to spend two officer slots on liaisons. Given that every command gives a token as well, this will keep SSD as 0-command for all rounds except first.

For an SSD yes, but I was looking at just a Star Destroyer.
