Can we get proper subforums some time?

By Admiral Deathrain, in KeyForge

Seriously, not that it changes the way the forum is predominantly used, but a way to keep it from just being this massive stack would be nice. Deck analysis could be a neat subforum where people don't have to feel bad for spamming it with threads about their decks. Organized play is a no-brainer.

They do that on all of their other forums, it actually is super weird that we are still in the pre-gamelaunch stack mode. Usually they add subforums within days of the game launching.

Haven't been on BGG in a long time, the communities there typically are a bit too casual for me. Not in a bad way of course, but I like to dive a bit deeper into games than just how to play them. I'll have a look at the Keyforge community, though!

Welcome to FFG, where the rules are made up and the mods don’t care. Sometimes it feels like we’re one Wayne Brady short of a full comedy show.

I'm going to offer some counterpoint here. I don't say any of this to invalidate your impressions on BGG forums, but to give you the perspective of someone who has been on those forums for years and who has been actively involved in discussion of the rulesets, tactics, and strategies of many of the games in their database.

While I'd agree that CCGs aren't really the bread and butter of BGG, both the FFG and BGG KeyForge forums seem to have valid questions and major overlap when it comes to high level discussion of timing right now, revolving around timing that isn't addressed by the current ruleset. There are seriously nuanced discussions being held by both forums. BGG is also well organized. As is pointed out, the current forum for Keyforge at FFG is a grab bag.

BGG generally great user generated file resources, though I'd say currently the resources are relatively low, attributable to how long the game has been out, there are also international file (player aids, references, etc) in the file section. BGG has some seriously dedicated players, check out the Terra Mystica forum if you question how deep the rabbit hole can go in the realm of competitive play. The proposed variant are sometimes interesting, but as you pointed out—mostly for casual players.

Both forums are desperately wanting rules clarifications right now, and there seems to be a bit of radio silence coming from the other end. I'm speculating that there may be some major clarifications coming, and they are keeping on the fly clarifications to a minimum.
