CIS fighters

Wasn't the Scarab a bomber?

Nope, it was just a heavier fighter with shields. It lacked ordnance, and had shields. Apparently it was intended to also be used as a interceptor in the original Battlefront 2 but considering that they have the V-Wing acting as a bomber in that game their view on ship roles is a bit suspect.

The separatists bombers were:

The Hyena class bomber, the ship we will likely see first considering its relevance and recognizably from The Clone Wars.

Trade Federation Droid Bomber, which is relatively obscure and was only armed with laser cannons and bombs but if FFG wanted a dedicated bombing craft for the CIS its an option.

E-STAP Trade Federation Starbomber, or the Commerce Bomber, I would consider them too obscure but considering that the Tie Punisher got it they are a possibility.

Then lastly we have the Sabaoth Defender, which was able to take missiles and had four laser cannons. Though rather than being a normal bomber it was more of a heavy assualt fighter.

Also in the realm of bombers/heavy assault fighter is the HMP Droid Gunship. It was more of a missile boat. The only canon downside is that it was decided to be an airspeeder rather than a space craft but I think that's pretty easy to retcon or slightly modify to be a space version.

In TCW it's used in space, even firing the missiles at starfighters.

Are you sure? Do you know which episode. I don't recall seeing it in space and every reference I've seen for it specifies it as an atmosphere craft. But clearly I don't think that's a limitation that matters anyway.

Nice! Now I don't even need to argue with people about it!

I'm just guessing what's on the back of the card because I don't think you'd ever want to have the other side active if it didn't give some sort of bonus. It's not a guarantee though

I'm going to guess that off the bat we will get these for the first few releases:

Tri-Fighter (for an interceptor class, using the Vulture more like an X wing, or vice versa)

Hyena Bomber (for their actual bomber class ship)

Droid Gunship (for their medium base missile platform like K wing and Punisher)

Possibly some other ace style ship or a support Shethapiede

And as for a super reach that I really hope we could get but probably won't happen, those Pod Hunters from the Malevolence episode would be really cool as their equivilent of a spacetug *just clamp onto a ship and deal crit would be hilarious but give it like two health and one or two attack dice, but make most of its damage come from a two crew slot boarding crew card or something).

Other than that they sky is the limit I think. They could introduce the super long shehapiede cargo edition (like the one in the Citadel Episode in TCW).

Super excited either way (though being a Republic kinda guy I really want their main medium base support ship thing to be the Gunship. I want a massive Republic Gunship vs Droid Gunship battle).

Best,

podracer? ... no sorry it's impossible because all ships in star wars x-wing can go in space, but podracer is like a F1!

for the+1 evade, i think it's not good, because for the face we know we must flip the card, so we don't need a bonus.

That or you take a penalty to flip it. For example, if you still take the effect of the obstacle and THEN flip it.

I think he's talking about this:

Image result for clone wars cis boarding ship

In the show it was used to 'grapple' ships of similar size or 'pierce' larger ships in order to board them.

Me and my buds have wanted boarding in x wing for the longest time!

Well if it is anything like the side we've seen it might flip AFTER you before your maneuver rather than before you activate like with the X-Wings. If they do it that way you rather telegraph when you are going onto a rock and means you'll be dropping down to 2 dice for a round before even being on the rock unless you want to just chance it and lose your attack/action/etc...

it's written on the card you must flip the card
