Resistance stuff in need of translation

From Mynocks Facebook, not mine nor do I claim credit, but thought I’d start the translation train.

Because he’s my favorite pilot from 1.0 I took the time to do Ello Asty’s card.

”When you reveal a red talon roll, if you have less than two stress you* treat the maneuver as white.”

*not sure if the translation would say ‘may’ or not. Hard when the language of the game has very specific meanings of words that might not translate the same.

May would just give him the option to gain stress as normal for a Tallon Roll, which might not be the best idea with Phazma and her little buddy popping up FO side of things.

These are some rough translations I got from running them through Google Translate so they might have an error or two.

YT-1300:

Han Solo - Setup: You can be placed anywhere in the play area beyond range 3 of any enemy ships.

Resistance Bombers:

Finch Dallow - When you drop a bomb, you may place it in the play area instead, touching you.

Ben Teene - After you performed an attack and the defender was in your mobile arc, assign the Rattled condition to them.

Rattled Condition:

When a bomb detonates at range 0-1 of you suffer 1 Critical Damage and remove this card.

ACTION: If there are no bombs at range 0-1 of you remove this card.

Cat - When you perform a primary attack, if the defender is within 0-1 of at least 1 friendly device, you roll 1 additional die.

T-70:

Ello Asty - When you reveal a red Talon Roll maneuver and you have no more than 2 stress tokens, treat this maneuver as white.

Nien Numb - When you receive a stress token, if there is an enemy ship in your front arc at range 0-1 you may remove a stress token.

Temmin Wexely - After you fully execute a speed 2-4 maneuver you may perform a free Boost.

Jess Pava - When you defend or perform an attack you may spend 1 charge or 1 nonrecurring charge from an Astromech equipped to you. If you do you may reroll dice equal to the number of friendly ships at range 0-1 of you.

Not too sure on the wording of the second sentence above but it should get the gist of it right.

Upgrades:

Astromech:

R5-X3 - Before you activate or attack you may spend 1 charge to ignore obstacles to the end of this phase.

Side note, R5-X3 makes the Resistance the first faction to have 4 named astromechs so far.

This one actually checks for a friendly device, so a bomb, mine, in range 0-1, not a ship.

Literal Google Translate gives: You can chat anywhere in the area of the game in a range of less than 3 from hostile ships.

I would assume it would be place instead of chat, and beyond range 3 makes a bit more sense.

Bomber Hype!

The bombers seem really good.

Been flying 2 since they first dropped. Really looking forward to the expansion.

Honestly, even at four ship types Resistance looks like an interesting faction to fly (as does First Order). There’s something nice about the simplicity of a handful of ships to master. Here’s to hoping they nail the point costs to be appropriate from the start.

I have 2 as well, I can’t wait to try in in many different lists w/the Falcon, some A-Wings, and Poe especially. Looking to find fun thematic combos.

Also on a side note YES!!! Happy to see Snap and Jess again, though I was almost expecting Jess to be I4 as well. Also Snaps ability is the same as before, and the Jess nerf was expected, decent against fewer ships but less effective against say a swarm.

You know after seeing Chewie I was hoping Han got a Buff to...but i guess not, a little sad.

She was partially spoiled before.

Looks to pretty clearly be:

When you defend or perform an attack if the enemy ship is in your mobile arc, you may spend 1 force to change 1 of your blank results to an evade or hit result.

So her ability is better since you can control the arc her ability triggers in but it comes at the cost of having 1 less force to trigger her ability.

Mostly super stoked for Asty. Dude was my favorite in 1st ed...though he was kinda crap given how broken everything was. Now he's I 5!

Yeah im kinda hoping i can do 2 Bombers, 2 A-Wings but i think 2 Bombers + Poe is a definite aim.

Honestly, I love it when they include little character details like that, like them even referencing 3POs work with other droids in the Resistance with his crew card. Really looking forward to how they will capture crew Palpatine swapping over to 'I AM THE SENATE' Palpatine.

With such limited options, I can really push myself to master the T-70 and all its beautiful little nuances. This is the faction I want to stick with for good.

Seems like very good and positive changes and keeps from 1.0 on.

The only thing that really hurts is Han, who is a complete waste of an I6 ship for Resistance.
