Painted up a Rebel sniper team...

Hey all!

Well, I got my sniper/spotter team painted up! Overall I'm pretty happy with them... I considered doing the Mon Calamari in greens and yellows... like, the guy who would be in that role would naturally be one with some natural camo... but then figured the red would pop nicely against all that green.

Overall pretty happy with how they, and their ghillie cloaks, came out! I think they will be a nice contrast to the imperial Scout version!

Fun look!

Great job on these guys. Really dig the way the colors work and your basing material incorporated onto the miniature. Bet they look great on the table, that is if you can find them. ;)

...fun werk!...

How'd you do those ghili spots?? I wanted to do that on my sniper and spotter

Hey!

Okay, so undercoated a brownish green. Then went in and added patches of black and brown, making sure some of them overlapped. Then did a bunch of trios of dots in black, brown, and tan, again making sure that, for a number of trios, the spots ended up crossing over between two background colors. Gave the whole thing a brown ink wash, and then redid the tan dots so they really stuck out. That’s the main camo pattern. For the sniper cloaks I left off the dots, and instead did dots of white glue that I then coated with a mix of flock and leaves (made from seeds) and static grass (using a flock box for the static grass so it sticks up a bit.)

Hope that helps some?

Nice! I thought about coating them with flock but was a little worried putting glue on them, that i would ruin them haha

Did you clear coat them? If so, before or after putting on the flock?
