As a scum player who still hasn’t gotten used to flying medium bases yet, i’ve looked at my other options and came upon the hwk and started wondering if its now worth using without the title and without requiring a named pilot.

For a long time the hwk was a ship you could only use one of, but now...

-its really cheap

-great action list

-firepower 2 turret

-not a terrible dial

-crew slot

-device slot

could a squadron of hwks or one consisting of multiple hwks with bombs be a overlooked but potent threat?

Moldy Crow is the limiting factor ... but sure you could do worse than a squadron of HWKs! I don't think anyone actually owns more than one LOL

I own 5 and flew 2 regularly in 1.0

Sadly with the Scum HWKs (except Dace) being arc-locked on their abilities, flying one without the title is painful.

I own four (I like repaints/mods). The title and named pilots certainly help it shine, I can't say I ever used generics.

I did try a list of all three Scum unique pilots in first edition; it did fairly well on our casual day; lots of jerk-troll abilities meshing well.

There was a 1.0 list that made a splash for a while that used 4 of them with TLT.

I say proxy it and see. You can run the 3 named scum pilots + a generic - equip one with MC and all with PerCo then do whatever you like with the remainder. I think the linked action turret turns can make the list out-perform folks assumptions if you fly aggressively.

Looking at 2.0 (I've only used Palob so far, to great effect), it looks like Torkil and Palob benefit the most from the title. Dace can no longer mount an ion turret, so he's reliant on other ships or upgrades to take advantage of his ion ability. Bummer.

Feedback Array + Static Discharge Vanes does make for a nice and nasty way to Ionize anything when paired with Dace's ability. It does cost, but it makes for an evil set up.

lot of people have at least 1 rebel, 1 scum. particularly if you play games in houshold. for example my wife will fly Poalob against my Roark a lot

Just took a list with Palob 4-0 (Its 7-0 overall, with one today being a 200-0 shockingly) at a tournament.

I don't think I get the reference, and I'm also trying to figure out what in what way the color schemes could possibly be puns.

I own 2. I had a sweet idea for an epic Jan/Kyle list in 1.0 that I will now try to tweak for 2.0 when the time comes.
