I bought the fo expansion but I really hate the upsilon shuttle. I just think it looks bloody stupid. I hope I'm not going to be at too much of a disadvantage with 3 tie fo, 2 tie SF and one silencer

Captain Cardinal? Really? So...the Empire is recruiting sports team mascots now?

He’s from a book, if that means anything.

While I’m the complete opposite regarding the upsilon (love the look), I think you’ll be fine for ace or ace + mini swarm lists. You will lose out on a lot of the nice crew and coordination options that are inbound.

Fingers crossed for another crew carrier to come from the cartoon..

Eh, still seems general hux is the only "...huh!?!??" card of the faction. Dude seems obscene

Hope you can stack him with 3 sf

What is Nu Hux's ability again?

When you perform a white coordinate action, you can treat it as red. If you do, choose up to 2 additional ships of the same type. All of the coordinated ships have to perform the same action, treating it as red.

First Order Cheerios are all part of a Trooper's balanced breakfast.

This seems to read as if only the first coordinated ship needs to be within R2 of the HuxCarrier. That's... interesting.

The English text has been spoiled somewhere already, IIRC, but now you've mentioned it I got back to the PL card and to be really precise, it reads: "... you may perform coordinate action on up to to more ships of the same type ..." so it would seem to inherit the restrictions of coordinate.

From when they first announced the Conversion kit.

Drat! It's like they saw through my evil scheme...

Edited to add:

Also looks like this doesn't work with a purple Coordinate. Double drat.

🤨 How would First Order get access to a purple Coordinate??? So far the only 2 I'm aware of are Republic and Separatist crew upgrades. Was there a Force power I missed?

Nothing yet. Just thinking ahead.

As @dsul413 said it from a book - Phasma, a very interesting book IMO and I was pleased to see use of a another new EU character rather than making stuff up just for X-Wing. Also the First Order =/= The Galactic Empire! 😉

I mean, yes? Battle Meditation appears to be in thr Delta 7 pack. You can’t see much but on the far right of the spread you can see a purple coordinate and what could believably be “...tion”. Given that battle mediation boosts those around you, it makes perfect sense for it to be that.

Even if it does there are no force slot crew carriers in the FO so the interaction between force slot upgrades and crew is kind of moot.

Would it make sense for that to be a light side upgrade though? Maybe Palpatine or Snoke is calm enough, but it's hard to imagine Maul or Kylo meditating in battle.

In Legends Battle Meditation was Palpatine's signature move, and Bastila Shan used it in the KotOR final battle during her brief Dark Side adventure, I don't think it should be limited to the good guys.

Yeah, I had kindof assumed it was a light-side power, but it’s pretty neutral in lore.

Do we have images of the SF dial yet?

No powers should be limited to just the "good guys". There are no powers that the dark side users would shy away from. They may have more offensive preferences, but from an ideological standpoint there is no reason to restrict yourself. I mean, sure, Vader is not a fan of the Jedi Mind **** Trick, he prefers to use force, but I'll bet he can use it just fine.

We've already seen that there are some force techniques that one side or the other has learned, but not shared that knowledge to the other side. So it does make sense thematically to have some force powers restricted.

It is not that the dark side shies away from such skills, but that they do not have the patience or calmness of mind to perform them, nor to dedicate years mastering a technique that is "weak" in their mind, The Dark sides defining characteristic is impatience. Of course there are expeptions, but there is also "good guys" that sometimes let their emotions take hold and use darker powers fueled by anger and such. But for the purpose of the game, Light Side powers makes as much sense as Dark Side powers. Both sides do not bother with learning the other sides powers, for different reasons.
