Has anybody figured out what the Master of X (where X = 1,2,3) special cards are tied to? I've looked at enough Master of 3 decks to know that there is no single Dis card that is common between them all. Additionally, the card art has Master of 1 as a Special, but the app has it as a Rare.

Help from Future Self is tied to Timetraveller . If you get a Timetraveller , you will almost assuredly get a Help from Future Self . If you get 2 Timetravellers , you will get 1 Help from Future Self and almost assuredly get a second as well.

The Horsemen are all tied to Pestilence, so that if you get Horseman of Pestilence , you should (unless the previous cards are already assigned (not sure if they boot to make room)) get Horseman of Death , Horseman of Famine , & Horseman of War .

I don't have any of these in a deck yet, but do all three appear together? Maybe master of 1 is suppose to be the rare?

They're not tied to anything. The speciality is that they are considered just one card when picking them into a deck and is considered "rare" for the chance. If the card is picked to a deck, it then randomizes which of its three variants it uses. This was obvious when the app card search still worked, as you could see that each Master of X occurs in decks 1/3 as often as a regular rare card, and each Master of X occurs equally often, or in other words, the occurrency of Master of 1 + 2 + 3 is the same as the occurrence of a regular rare.

On top of that, there can be only one Master of X card in a deck, but that's also true for many commons and uncommons, so that probably isn't related to the special rarity. However, that means that Master of 1, 2, and 3 can never occur in a deck together or in pairs.

Excellent. Thanks!

On the note of special cards and their appearance, I just discovered an eBay listing for $2000 for a single deck. Why that much? Well, I will tell you that this person is out of their gourd, however, ...

Seems decent, I’d pay...15, maybe 20 bucks for it πŸ˜‚

How do you know there are certain cards that can only appear once?

11/12 sanctum cards as creatures? Ugh; That sounds pretty bad.

There was a Reddit post where someone had analyzed the data of tens of thousands of decks. I don't have the link anymore but I saved the list, as follows:

Quote

Singlet cards (cards that never come as doubles):

  • Lash of Broken Dreams
  • Library Access
  • Wardrummer
  • Bait and Switch
  • Key Charge
  • Key Hammer
  • Burn the Stockpile
  • Ether Spider
  • Chota Hazri
  • Restringuntus
  • Replicator
  • Master of 1
  • Master of 2
  • Master of 3

Thasks for this. I just checked and I have 7 decks with Bait & Switch, all of them only 1 copy. I know that's statistically irrelevant, but I still find it interesting.

I do miss the option to search decks for particular cards...

I have a deck with three different cards that can only be singles....can i sell my deck for thousands of dollars now? pretty please? ;)

i think the x in the master of x may be tied to the number of copies of another card you have in a deck.

for example, i just opened a deck with a master of 3 and i have 3 copies of francus in the deck. decklist: https://www.keyforgegame.com/deck-details/843f9f71-be2c-485b-9f20-5530abd4c2c5

my guess is that master of 1 is a random rare but to have a chance to get a master of 2 or a master of 3 you must have either 2 copies or 3 copies of another card in the deck and a master of 1 which gets changed to a master or 2 or 3.

i may be wrong though. has anyone seen a deck with a master of 2 or 3 that doesnt contain multiple copies of another card?

So, at some point there was a card search in the app and they removed it?

Yep, but fear not, you can simply go to https://keyforge-compendium.com/decks and find specific occurrences of specific cards in decks.

I've got a master of 3 deck "The Voltaic Enemy of Atlanford" that has no triple instances of a card, it has 4 doubles then all the rest are single instance.

Got some really nice synergy between Key Hammer, Lash of Broken Dreams and Jammer Pack to unforge a key and make it cost 11 to reforge though πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚

i should have done more research before posting. since my last post i have seen several decks that have these cards without duplicates of other cards. i have also found that all 3 cards seem to appear in decks at roughly the same rate, suggesting that all 3 cards have the same trigger (whatever that may be).

at this point i am thinking that the 3 cards are not tied to anything and just have the lowest proc chance of any cards in the game, so the guys at ffg decided to call them secret rares.

if you go to the stats page on https://keyforge-compendium.com you can see the rates that the cards appear in decks shared on that site.
