This is huge! Not as big as the Key Positions errata, but changes strategies significantly.

X is the number of wounds you remove, or the number of minis you bring back. Any minis you bring back have 1 hitpoint remaining, instead of being fully healed.
Thank you I was reading through this thinking that no one had actually read the rules
No one talking about ground vehicles standby

I believe the only time there is the "claim" ability is Priority Supplies, so Emplacement Troopers cannot pick up the supplies (again likely for the reason I mention above). Given this, they can still be used to score other types of objectives.
Also, I noted that Emplacement Troopers now provide light cover to units behind them (like ground vehicles currently do).
Emplacement troopers have provided cover since they were released. I noted it this weekend while prepping for tournament play.

They also provide Light Cover now. FFG giveth, and FFG taketh away.

I can't find that anywhere in the old reference guide. It's not under Emplacement Troopers. It says they can obscure, but obscuration does not equal any particular amount of cover.

Cover, page 23. Emplacement troopers provide light cover to the units they obscure.

Standby for ground vehicles is awesome. Makes the AT-ST an even better area denial tool.

Aha, good catch. They just added it to the Emplacement Troopers section so that people like me can find it now, lol.

It's over a quarter of your points, you need to be attacking with it, not hoping for someone to wander within range 2.

Agreed, standby to ground vehicles isn’t a problem because they have access to weapons with significantly greater range.
