"DON'T LET THOSE THUGS SCARE YOU!" - Poe Dameron, Black Leader
He's right, you know. The Resistance isn't about to be scared of anything. I'd argue they're probably the single most fearless group of individuals we've ever seen in Star Wars. In a moment's notice they sortied to take on Starkiller, they were willing to give everything they had to escape the First Order afterwards, and various other times in comics and other media, we've seen them give it their absolute all. They seriously never hold back, and are comprised of literally anybody willing to lay down their life if need be, for the good of the galaxy at large.
Which isn't a far cry from the Rebellion they spawned from. I mean, The Resistance is half made up of Rebellion veterans who just didn't know any other life at that point, and half made up of idealists who grew up believing in The Rebellion's message and actions.
It's a faction of hope, bravery, and fortitude. They are far, far better people than somebody such as myself, who firmly belongs in Scum. But that doesn't mean I can't try.

T-70 X-Wing
Well, we all know what we're looking forward to here. We've got a fantastic stat line of 3/2/3/3, and if you close those S-Foils you've got a sodding barrel roll. Augh, I love it. But what we really wanna' run is Poe, and
why wouldn't we!?
He has some of if not the most action economy in the game with the right upgrades, and will definitely be a
star
for The Resistance- if not the whole game itself... And he rightly should be. You know **** well he's one of the best pilots in the galaxy. We've seen it! It's kind of ridiculous. But man, Kare Kun? Pilots like that? oH BOY we have cool options. Can't wait to rock HLC and eventual, better cannon upgrades on this sucker! The T-70 is going to be an extremely high-risk-high-reward ship.
And I definitely want to be good enough that I can maximize that risk. That's a challenge I can
happily try to take.
RZ-2 A-Wing
What a funky one! We were expecting some really nasty aces, but instead we got one of the most unstressable, nimble ships in the game. Sure it doesn't really have a whole lot of firepower, but it can redirect it easily, you can slap ferrosphere on it to make it more agile (I'd go for Primed 90% of the time though for them actions!) and man if used right its pilots are
insanely
good, or they're going to be. These suckers are gonna' put RZ-1s to complete and total shame. How nuts is it gonna' be to barrel roll into position back towards a foe and then flip your arc to them!? How are they gonna' expect that easily? Unpredictable, unstressable, absolutely insane little starfighter here. Very excited to play them.
MG-100 / SF-17 / B/SF-17 Starfortess
WE KNOW VERY LITTLE. Except that it's got 3 forward, sure as **** won't be agile, definitely doesn't have any linked actions, but will definitely be all about setting up bombs and making it a very bad idea to get wherever its
three sodding arcs facing at all times
are gonna' be. I mean, the coverage this ship has is totally insane! It makes turreted ships of 2.0 feel pretty sad, but isn't as totally busted as PWTs of old, is it? Especially since given its large base and what, one green? It'll be quite easy to hit. Wouldn't be terribly stupid to throw Han into this thing I'll tell you that much. But man, the concept of throwing one on the board and having Tallie or Poe- or both, dance around its backside to pick stuff off? Legendary. All while it can just crank out bombs to the max. Also... Given this thing's a bomber and C-3P0 has coordinate, and can coordinate with ships
beyond
range 2 if they have calculate... I actually really expect these to have Calculate. But I could be totally wrong! One way or another, there'll be a way to rock coordinate in The Resistance, and my money's on this. I expect one of the game's worst dials however.
YT-1300
We still don't know a ton here! But we do know that old faithful here is hardcore from the get-go, has great pilots and crew/gunner options. We all know how nasty Rey, Rose, and Finn are going to be together. They'll be totally bonks. I'm excited to see other pilots and options for this ship, and how The Resistance can make their YT-1300s
special.
I'd love a reason to rock generic YTs, so I have a reason to have non-falcon ones on the table!
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I'm excited for The Resistance. I'll be buying the full faction as soon as I can. I have literally zero reason not to. The First Order seemed pretty cool, Scum looked fun, The Rebellion seemed steady and The Empire has SOME appeal, but...
What can I say? The Resistance lit a spark. Hopefully it'll turn into a fire.

We know a little bit more about it, like that is has 9 hull and 3 shields from the back of the conversion kit box at Gencon. We also know its actions which are Focus, Target Lock, Rotate, and Reload all of which are white. I find the lack of a ship ability for the ship the most odd thing about it, it would seem like getting some sort of bomb based ability would have made the most sense.
As for 3PO I don't think his coordinate ability triggers with anything that we know of yet, it might just be future proofing/playing to his tie in comic for TFA. Of course there are lots of cards in the conversion kit there is the chance that we might get a crew BB-8, R2, PZ, or some other droid that grants the Coordinate action so you can trigger it.

Remember, we saw what was basically an art-only card. That ability could be on the back, or wasn't ready to be revealed yet.
Eh, having flown gunbosts I can say 7 health + 2 agi really ain't much of anything
Unfortunately, (not large base) high initiative remains undercosted and therefore the most precious commodity until rectified in January (hopefully)
Then maybe we can look forward to the incredibly self sufficient Poe and Rey, or the myriad support options such as Targeting Synch, c3po, and the illustrious m9g8 (easily the best mech by a lot, easy access to rerolls without giving up any actions during engagement!)
Also c3po gives the coordinating ship a calculate regardless of targets. Coordinate only matters if you're coordinating a friendly at r3

This, but for First Order.

No, we have seen the regular cards:
I actually think the Bomber with a naming crisis will be the sleeper ship for the resistance. Otherwise, I think its going to be Poe + stuff. The A-wings really don't excite me. They will probably be too expensive for what they do.
Edited by Jo Jo7 hours ago, Captain Lackwit said:Remember, we saw what was basically an art-only card. That ability could be on the back, or wasn't ready to be revealed yet.
If it had an ability it would be there like on the TIE/sf promo card. That and from the back of the box it clearly doesn't have one. Its just such a shame, I would have liked something like:
Armed and Primed: At the end phase you may gain 1 charge on a Bomb Device upgrade. While you defend if you have a charge on a Bomb Device upgrade change one Hit result to a Critical Hit result.
I highly suspect we will get the same ship as in 1.0, but with the changed front arc to be a 3 forward, they get a crew slot or two, and their 3 white banks are changed into 3 red banks as seen in the reveal article.
8 hours ago, ficklegreendice said:Coordinate only matters if you're coordinating a friendly at r3
Just states "beyond range 2" for the version with the Calc req... So table edge to table edge if the ship C3-P0 is on Coordinates a ship that has calculate.
Oh, that's kinda neat
I couldn’t be more excited for the Resistance. Poe will be an auto include in every list I fly as long as I continue to play the game, and I look forward to the combinations of wing mates I can play with him! Glad to see other people are just as excited as I am!
55 minutes ago, Hiemfire said:Just states "beyond range 2" for the version with the Calc req... So table edge to table edge if the ship C3-P0 is on Coordinates a ship that has calculate.
We've yet to see a ship that can work with C3-PO in this capacity?
Calculate is only being used on Droid pilots thus far, and I'm unaware of any in the resistance.
So speculatively can we expect and Astro, tech or crew that may add this action?
I also like that performing either of the actions C3-P0 adds an additional calculate token.
3 minutes ago, Tyhar7 said:We've yet to see a ship that can work with C3-PO in this capacity?
Correct, but we don't have all of the upgrades revealed just yet. His ability might be built around something that pops up in later waves, or an R2-D2 Resistance crew upgrade (or other droid crew) might be hidden in the Conversion kit and we've just not had it spoiled.
Resistance and First Order look like appealing themes/design choices to me. Excited to get them on the table.
Sure, which is why I asked if we should speculate on where on the spectrum of upgrade cards this could possible fall down?
I can't imagine this being a prep card for a future expansion. They may have intentions for expanded use of the card with a later wave but likely they will have a way to use 3PO from release.
So what do we think is more likely? Adding this to named Astro, even a limited one would be extreamly powerful on someone like Poe.
So maybe a crew ability for Artoo or BB8? Having Artoo and Threepio synergised makes the most sense.
Or may intergrated astromech has been changed to this for a tech of mod upgrade?

Darth Maul has something similar in his permitting a ship he's equipped to that has the Force Talent slot to take Dark Side Talents, of which there were none in the Core or conversion kits. So it is possible that C3-P0's ability is similar in some way.

It's a fair example.
Although we're speaking of additional game mechanics, over existing ones not being able to be applied.
I'd concede the point. Still it's not good practice to introduce a card that can't be used to its full potential. Hopefully the design team has got something in mind.

if (a) and (b) are true, then (c) is unlikely.
if (a) is true and (b) is false, then (c) is true.
if (a) is false and (b) is true, then (c) is possible.
or in short: agreed.
The Resistance Bomber might have a configuration we have not seen instead of the ship ability. There is still a lot in those conversion kits we have not seen yet.
8 minutes ago, Caduceus01 said:The Resistance Bomber might have a configuration we have not seen instead of the ship ability. There is still a lot in those conversion kits we have not seen yet.
Correct.
we haven’t seen a full “Rey’s Falcon”, and “Resistance Bomber” article. I think I’d prefer a configuration over a ship ability. Configurations help the entire platform, as sometimes ship abilities can fall flat and result in little use for certain ability carrying pilots.
Id love to run a thematic Bomber, Bomber and 2 A-Wing list. I hope it’s possible.
We probably won't see an article for them, to be honest. we didn't see detailed articles for all ships from the previous conversion kits and these aren't getting 2.0 releases yet. I'm waiting for an unboxing video to get the details, hopefully we can swing one soon.

Three arcs? Where did you get that idea?
(not saying it's not true. just wondering where you got that info.)
That makes me very excited!

There's a spoiled part of the card kicking around the show a 3 forward primary with a 2 primary bowtie turret as well.
Oooohh. I like that 😍

Suspected... It was originally shared as having been from a FB post but nothing supporting that statement was given... So possible, and it does have a turret and Front arc, but the values are in question.
