Hey guys, I just ordered the Dungeon expansion for the revised 4th edition, since it looks like it will be a lot of fun. My friend has the Reaper expansion, so when we play we just use that for now. When he got his expansion it came with a whole deck of adventure cards, the old ones plus the new expansion cards. They are a slightly different size and color than the originals, so we only use the new deck (same with the spell and purchase decks). His Reaper expansion also came with plastic figures and updated stat cards for all characters, new and old.

So my question is, will my Dungeon expansion have completely new decks of adventure cards etc. (the original plus the few new ones) or just the new cards (that might be a different size)? And does it only come with the plastic figures and stat cards for the 5 new characters? (I have the cardboard cutouts from the base game, but it would be nice to have all figurines)

Dungeon has 10 Adventure cards and 128 (I think) Dungeon cards, which are like Adventure cards, but that you draw on the Dungeon board. Kinda weird, my base + Reaper had the exact same sized (and colored) cards, but Dungeon's Adventure cards were slightly bigger and its character cards of a noticeably different shade of red.

Simple solution for different sized cards: sleeves

Upon further reading, sounds like you have the BI 4th edition base game, since you don't have miniatures for the base characters. If so, Upgrade Pack or FFG 4th edition base game are needed for any of the FFG expansions.

Actually I might just get the Reaper expansion my friend ordered, so all the stuff is the same (and I plan on getting the Reaper at some point anyway). Until then sleeves are a good idea.

Sadly, if you have the BI 4th edition (with cardboard characters instead of miniatures), even sleeves won't help, the cards are way too different in size (not just millimeters, but centimeters).

You should ask your friend if he got the upgrade pack or had the revised fourth edition, because as far as I'm aware, the Reaper Expansion doesn't come with reprints of the original cards.

Yeah it just got here, and you're right about the card size. So it looks like I'm going to have to get an upgrade pack or something. Can anyone confirm/deny if you buy the Reaper expansion if it comes with upgrade materials for the BI edition of the base game? My friend's apparently did, but every one I've looked at online doesn't say anything about that stuff, it just says what new stuff it has. He got it from a store that no longer exists around here so I'm wondering if he got some special 2 for 1 deal or something.

Reaper only comes with all new (as in, not in the base game) stuff that is all FFG-size. Same for the other two expansions. You need FFG 4th base game or the Upgrade Pack if you want to use the expansions with your base game.
