Can there be a tie in Warhammer: Invasion?

By Vollick1979, in Warhammer: Invasion The Card Game

My brother asked me if it was possible to have a tie in WI. Initially I thought the answer was no, as combat damge can only damage the defending player's capital, and tactics that deal damage go on the stack so as they resolve one capital would burn before the other. But then I came across Warpstone Meteor.

Situation: Both me and my opponent have 1 zone burning and the other two zones each have 7 damage tokens on them. There are no creatures or developments in play for either player. I have Warpstone Meteor in play and since neither my opponent nor myself have a unit to corrupt we must assign the damage and thus both players will have two zones burning at the same time.

Am I correct in interpreting that this would result in a tie game? Also is there any other options/combos that could create a tie game?

There's lots of ways the game can end in a tie.

One possible example is:

- Empire vs. Chaos. Both players have only two cards left in their decks.
- During his turn, the Chaos player plays Will of Tzeentch ("Play during your turn. Action: Each player discards his hand and draws three cards.")

According to the rules, both players loose simultaneously. That would be a draw.

Will of Tzeentch when you both have 1 or 2 cards left. but if i was in that game and that happened, i'd want to take a picture or something lol

I'm curious to know who has had a game end in a tie here....

Similar situations to the one that Vollick described can happen with Followers of Mork and Doom Divers.

So, if a result is TIE GAME, can we just shuffle the decks and go for result of 3:2 (for burning zones) to avoid the tie result?
