Can you engage a monster which is already engaged.

By Milten, in Arkham Horror

If a monster is engaged with an investigator and another investigator enters that same place, can he/she engage the monster instead and "save" the first investigator? Rule 428.11 says something about it but it is not clear how exactly the 2nd investigator engages the monster if it is already engaged... Is just performing an attack action enough to disengage the monster from the first investigator and engaging it with the second one?

If I am not mistaken, you can engage an enemy engaged with another investigator as a part of an attack action (learn to play guide, page 11, attack action) :)

Yes, you can make an attack action against any enemy on your space and attacking an enemy automatically engages it with you, which means it disengages with its current investigator.

You sure can! 409 Attack Action:

Quote

409.2 When you perform an attack action, you choose one monster in your space, engage that monster, and test strength . For each success you roll, you deal one damage to that monster. (See rule 427, “Engage” and rules 416.13 and 416.15 regarding dealing damage to a monster.)

Thanks all. We were doing it that way but just wanted to make sure it is the correct way. :)
