It seems like a weird thing to do when modules of their other games, especially X-Wing have been around and popular for so long. I hope this just means they plan to do an app themselves and don't want to have to compete, not that they'll start revocing their silent tolerance of these things completely.
FFG DMCAed KeyForges TTS module, implications for X-Wing?
it's a Unique game. May have something do to with that.

Fantasy Flight Games digital-millenium-copyright-acted KeyForge's (a new card game) TableTop Simulator module...
I hope nothing; it's much, much more likely that we'll see an online Keyforge game than an online X-Wing game, but it's always possible that the TTS and Vassal games get taken down. I hope they won't.
It would be a bit of a shot in the foot anyway I suspect, with Vassal at least, as I understand a whole lot of their playtesting goes on there.
Welp, time to get a backup save for X-Wing. Juuuuust in case.
Keyforge does seem particularly well-designed to take a shot at being a Hearthstone-beater.
That might be because they own the IP, whereas LucasArts might be the ones to go after any rogue X-Wing 'products'.

They didn't crack down on the online client for l5r.
Considering all the QR codes, the design etc. I'm almost positive they plan to roll out an online version of the game (they seem to be going with a very PokemonTCG-esque model where you get the digital product along the physical one), but we'll have to wait and see.
Future Quick Build cards will be built Keyforge style.

Do you have the link to this announcement?

There is no announcement to this, the module just disappeared from TTS and apparently the creator of it spoke about the reasons privately.

So I take it this was a discord conversation?
So just to be certain, this is what we are talking about?
I think a lot of this has to do with Keyforge being a brand new game and them being extra-cautious with trying to establish the early health of the game. Especially given the literally unique nature of the game being a fundamental draw, if people have access to play whatever deck they want on a third-party platform, there's less incentive to purchase multiple random decks.
Not saying I agree. I think having an easily accessible way to play the game is vital for building interest. I bought into agot 2.0 hard, in no small part because I was able to play frequently online instead of the once-weekly 2hr opportunity I had at my lgs.
Anyway, x-wing is clearly healthy in spite of 3rd party simulators, so I wouldn't expect it to be a high priority compared to a brand new game based on an untested concept.
There's a high possibility of official digital coming out.
I was hoping they'd do this. Where I think TTS is good to help build interest in a game, I feel those that don't enjoy playing board/card games on the computer is at a disadvantage competitively. I also think that in some ways it takes away people from the LFGS because they get games in whenever they want and don't need to leave the house except for big events.
In my opinion tabletop gaming should involve sitting across from someone and engaging with them. That's where the fun happens.

Probably this. The whole concept of “unique” games is such that they would want to be very careful how any digital implementation is, well, implemented. From the announcement at GenCon, they very much don’t want it to be treated like a regular CCG, so they probably want to make sure that any digital version is going to be as unique as the physical version.

This essentially. Especially with FFG having a digital department.
