A Tactical Malfunction [MAFIA]

~~RESPONSE: correct on this unit’s previous Vanilla Town lie. Please see this unit’s explanation.~~

~~Deathproof: one shot: confirmed.~~

~~STATEMENT: this unit’s counterpart would appear to have been LTD (also CIS loyal as is this unit). Supposition: Different ModGod responses due to different powers?~~

Hypothesis : LTD began the game as third party deathproof survivor, or town, an d would join whichever faction triggered his deathproof.

~~QUERY: how do you surmise this would effect the Endgame now?~~

I meant to write LP, not LTD

So I looked up Beskar...the following is from wookiepedia;

Mandalorian iron , also known by its Mando'a name of beskar , was an extremely durable iron ore whose only known source was the Outer Rim world of Mandalore and its moon , Concordia . The Mandalorian warrior culture that inhabited Mandalore mined their planet for beskar , using it in the creation of weapons, armor , and starships , occasionally even selling the rare and valuable metal on the galactic market . The introduction of certain additives during the smelting process served to increase the strength of the natural ore, and Mandalorian metalsmiths guarded the secrets of forging beskar from outsiders, passing along the techniques from one generation of metallurgists to the next, strictly within the Mandalorian community. A versatile metal, Mandalorian iron could be melded into multiple alloys and forged into various configurations.

Maybe it was a deep clue?

My other thought is that, assuming Podracer didn’t lie and he was a doc before he became a mentee, the game has a kind of symmetry with

2 insane cops

2 docs

2 lynchproof

and

2 godfathers

There must always be 2 right? I dunno its a stretch but I just posted a wookiepedia entry on beskar, so I dunno. I looked through Gnips game and I’m just not seeing anything. Honestly, I don’t see anything in LP’s game either. Good news though, if you guys do rereads, if you filter out ebons posts this game is only like three pages long.

I think its most likely LP was pushed into the scum faction when we tried to lynch him. I’ll hold off a vote until I hear from you guys, maybe whichever one of you isnt a dirty rotten scoundrel sees something I’m missing.

Given that I am not a godfather, the idea of symmetry doesn't hold.

~~STATEMENT: greetings fellow CIS loyalist and greetings ScumBot!~~

~~DILEMNA: this unit ranks @Madaghmire > @GhostofNobodyInParticular for CIS but Mads unit finds it more likely that this unit is corrupted than GNIP unit~~

~~RESTATEMENT: this unit has consistently raised symmetry as a theme of this scenario throughout this scenario. Had this unit’s theory on CopBot symmetry been heeded for example this unit would not have been VoteZapped, would still possess SuperShield and would be in a far stronger position to face the Endgame. ~~

~~RESPONSE: As such, this unit currently ascribes to “Always two there are” hypothesis and increases % likelihood of GNIP as ScumBot with some form of cloaking (Godfather unit or Scan Evasion software?).~~

++WARNING: this is hypothesis grounded on metagame analysis/GodMod psych-estimate NOT strict logic pathway++

~~QUERY: has GNIP claimed and if so as what?~~

++INTERNAL: regrets this unit does not have access to Mads unit Ebon-filtered log files++

~~STATEMENT: this unit will still not VoteZap at this time as is highly interested in GNIP view of scenario.~~

++INTERNAL REMINDER: BotVox comms pattern final day... BotVox comms pattern final day... BotVox comms pattern final day... this unit can keep this up... keep going unit... keep going...++

I haven't. I will do so now: I am a vanilla townie. I realize that this isn't very convincing, but 'tis the truth.

Again, I disagree. Aside from the fact that I am not a godfather, were that to be true there would also have had to have been a second role-blocker and a second mentor.

Else, we would only have had double town roles (barring vanilla townies), and therefore no reason to assume that there would be a second godfather based on the 'always two there are' premise.

Given that I am vanilla town, and know that one of you is lying, I know that the 'always two' rule doesn't apply.

We have 1 insane cop confirmed, 1 doc confirmed, 1 mentor confirmed, 1 roleblocker confirmed, 1 godfather confirmed, and one lynchproof confirmed. We had 2 vanilla townies confirmed. We have 1 mentee, who had claimed doc.Unknown, we have one claimed deathproof (note: NOT lynchproof, but a 1-shot deathproof), one claimed insane cop, and one vanilla town.

Following on from my above analysis:

Mad has self-claimed insane cop, and his reads appear to bear that out. He didn't hammer you when he had the chance, so I assume he is indeed town. The only hiccup is that he was targeted by cult not scum, and hence cannot be 10% cleared. Still, the lack of hammer is what makes me think he is town.

You are a self-claimed 1-shot deathproof, though you both lied about it at first and then repeated that lie just today (in game), then when Mad called you out you reaffirmed your ability. That's inconsistent. We have only your word for it that you didn't take the opportunity to hammer me, as you weren't present at the time to post and yet not go with that option.

Furthermore, you insist on repeating this 'rule of two' idea, and indeed claim to think that the possibility of it is going up, despite the fact that it hasn't been consistent. As I point out above, we may have two cops and may have had two docs, but we had 3 vanilla townies, 1 roleblocker, 1 godfather, 1 cultist, and then the discrepancy comes in between your role and LTD's.

After all, LTD was confirmed as 'lynchproof', which is a constant ability that only works during the day. You claim a 1-shot 'death-proof', which is an expendable ability which works any time. That is not symmetry. To have symmetry scum would have had to have been 4 players, there would have had to have been two cults, and one less vanilla townie, and your role or LTD's would have had to be different.

For that, we would have needed two additional players. One for the cult, and one to go with the third townie into the scum team. We don't have those, nor is your role, by your own admission, identical to LTD's. So why do you insist on going with the symmetry argument when it clearly is worthless?

The only thing that is preventing me from voting you at the moment is that you came up as anti-town to a confirmed insane cop. So either you are also a godfather, though with an additional role modifier to Ebon, or you are a redirector/busdriver who got lucky N1.

Having a redirector/busdriver, a godfather, and a role-blocker in scum team in a game with a handicapped cult seems like a fair balance to 2 docs and 2 cops. In this case, though, you had to also have been one-shot 'deathproof' (though I rather think it was lynchproof, as I suggested when we were discussing LTD D2) as well, which seems maybe a touch too good. Hence why I am not voting you yet.

~~RESPONSE: this unit has repeatedly apologised for its false claim of vanilla Town previously and has not sought to disguise or deprioritise that~~

~~This unit did not argue for exact symmetry (hence two CopBots, two scan-blocking type unit’s, two death-defying type unit’s) and has also caveated and indeed flagged that theory as theory not substantiation due to it being based on metagame analysis of ModGod rather than logic patterns~~

~~This unit could have HammerZapped and yet did not.~~

~~This unit concurs that a death-defying-role-blocking/switching-masking role capability would indeed be ... OP even for LP~~

++ANALYSIS: impasse (part 963)++

Ugh. I’m still not sure. But whichever one of you it is, you’re doing a fine job.

Top.

Shelf.

Chicanery.

I’m still leaning Gnips as my fellow townie.

I’ve had a strong GNips town read this whole game. Since one of his (I think D2 posts) going after Cal. It was wrong, but it screamed town wrong and it screamed town Gnips. I scanned him because the read was so strong I was sure I was wrong. He’s done nothing since that has caused me to move off my read.

Neither has LP, but he also hasn’t posted a ton since the lynch, which is where I posit he underwent The Change .

He does seem a little eager to buy into the symmetry thing, which I wrote shortly after seeking my spirit guide Obi Wanna Doobie. He thought my ideas were “Far out”.

Still looking for a smoking gun though.

~~RESPONSE: as previously stated (note: “as previously stated” appears to increasingly be this unit’s catchphrase) this unit postulates we are at an impasse in which the variables are now known but resolution is challenging.~~

~~This unit admits to a certain... processor fatigue at continued BotVox comms restating the limited data of the case available (and further notes that such data as there is is easily enough countered and furthermore usually caveated in advance as well~~

~~This unit restates a Mads>GNIP Town read (but notes limited information and basis for such an assay). Restates symmetry not as exact science but rather Mod theme. Restates that it could have been HammerZap and was not.~~

~~Restates: impasse.~~

~~This unit has re-examined some (although not admittedly all) library computer files and has 50%+ CIS loyalty reads on both units.~~

~~Re-restates: impasse!~~

++COMMS: @GhostofNobodyInParticular @Madaghmire ++

~~If there is any information this unit can offer it stands ready. If there is any action this unit can take*, this unit will try to prove helpful. But this unit rererestates it’s impasse concern. ~~

~~*=barring reposting of all comms!~~

@Madaghmire , @Lord Preyer - I am a few short minutes away from randomly voting one of you, as I haven't a clue whom to go for and we are not getting anywhere. Have either of you something to add before I vote?

Yeah. Its not me.

I am inclined to take your word for it, so:

##vote LP

At this post, whichever of you is scum did a job worthy of a win, so. . .

I hope to god im right.

Hammer!

You won't be put off your decision by a little beskar. 13 hours under a laser cutter does the job. Startlingly, it seems TR-45's behavioral anomaly appeared after trauma from the first attempted disassembly, despite Vizsla's modifications. A regrettable but necessary sacrifice. Polaris Theta will be at 100% efficiency within the week, churning out countless automated troops, ready to lift the weight of Republic oppression from the galaxy. As J-4884 predicted, you will each have new roles in the war effort.

--END SIMULATION--

Your performance completing tactical exercise N4-88C[A_Tactical_Malfunction] is acceptable. Your ability to protect our facilities from sabotage appears adequate and your success exceeds expectations for an auxiliary subroutine. This speaks well of our "investigators," who shall be rewarded with first pick of sector armies. Victors: @GhostofNobodyInParticular , @Madaghmire , @LTD , @Constantine Valdor , @Matt3412 , @Herowannabe , @Caldias

Your final operational test is complete. Welcome the the CIS Droid Army.

@Lord Preyer has been killed. He was a vampire. Mads was an insane cop, GNiPs was a vanilla townie.

The game is over; town has won. Thank you all for playing, moderating this was an absolute joy!
