This past weekend at the Fantasy Flight Games Event Center in Roseville, Minnesota, over 150 StarCraft fans joined together to celebrate the upcoming release of Blizzard’s StarCraft II in true FFG style: by playing StarCraft: The Board Game.
Many attendees were avid computer gamers who had never heard of FFG before this event. They turned out to take advantage of our free StarCraft II beta keys, but quickly realized the scope and appeal of the board gaming hobby. With their eyes opened to the greatness of hobby gaming, a few even signed up for Event Center memberships!
If you weren’t able to attend, don’t forget that your local game retailer or club may be offering a similar event as soon as this weekend. Check with your local retailer to see if they’re participating.

A final note - If you received a StarCraft II beta key and it’s not working, follow these steps:
- Log into battle.net (if you don’t have an account, you’ll need to create one).
- Under the “Manage My Games” heading, click the “Add or Upgrade a Game” link (as opposed to the “Item Code Redemption” link).
- Enter your beta key.
