my take on Sato

I felt like trying Sato again, got inspired a bit by the last list on this forum but didn't want to hijack the thread.

My main concern is the small number of activations... that's about it honestly.

I would additionally be concerned about the generally short range of your ships.

Combined with the low activation count you will have trouble actually getting Sato to work for you at range.

Replace the mc75 with a Liberty and switch the hammerheads for another neb? Then I would have room for a flotilla

Sato does relatively little for a Liberty as there aren’t any ordnance slots. Upgrading 2 reds to blacks isn’t that great. You could switch to a scout MC30 with spinal mounts (for the double arc) instead, but you’re losing durability and shifting play styles.

EDIT: though Sato would be great for a ship with HIE’s...

Your original list still has reds so with CF dials your ships should have a decent chance at triggering. However, Satovation desperately wants CF tokens for rerolls, so I’d consider dropping Ketsu and Dash for a pair of A-wings and a comms net flotilla. You’ll have to be judicious with your squadron usage but you gain a flotilla and token versatility.

My dream Salvation includes Antilles and nav teams. It makes for a very nimble ship to get pointed in the right direction and gets the cf token for re-rolls as well. It does get expensive, though.

yeah, my thoughts as well. It makes for the perfect Salvation, but it's still too easy to take out by a Demo Glad.

Bring in SAd. Ditch Ketsu for a comms net gr75...

I wonder if this list that I created a while ago isn't just better at this point.

haven't had the opportunity. I tried a Mothma list which was fun, might actually bring it to the regionnal. All my friends think Sato sucks and I shouldn't bring him to a major event... so I'm still very undecided...

Scout corvettes or CR90A’s are fun with Sato. A double arc from the 90a suddenly becomes 2x2 black dice if you CF.
