This fun little build I hit upon rather by accident while playing in FlyCasual while I wait to get to an event this Sunday.

I've loved using Gavin since the new edition landed, and, think I've found a nice place to actually use Porkins, and he just seems to mesh well with Chopper, seeing as I can't fly Hera in an X-Wing (yet).

EWs are better with Daredevil+R4. You can really throw them around the sky that way and "stay on target" or Juke but then you need to keep evading which ties up your turning ability.

If I'm honest, I very rarely ever boost, unless I have an action coming in from outside, like AP-5, for example. The build I made here is just an awesome damage dealer and manages to avoid incoming fire rather well. It's a nice companion to the T-65, at least, That's what I think.

The pairing of Focus/Lock means that, if you have a high probability of PS killing whatever is pointed at you, thanks to Wedge, then going all out on the dice is useful with mods available.

My biggest problem when building out E-wings is they end up being in the: "I should be running Luke here for the points". An 84 point Gavin is 1 point more than Luke with Supernatural and Proton Torps.

Yes but....X-Wings are a bit, erm, boring aren't they? Especially old 1e players like me that want to play with ships other than XWs!

As an old 1E, should not be bored of X-wings, unless its Biggs. They were underpowered for so long in 1E.

I think I like using Gavin because of his ability, for starters, then there is the fact the E-Wing is so much more manoeuvrable than an X-Wing, even with the Tallon-Roll available. I mean, an S-Loop is rather fun as well and can fit in places a Tallon Roll won't.

I'm happy X-Wings are back as a ship to be reckoned with, as when I started in January, there were so many better ships available, and I never actually used one until I got my hands on Saw's Renegades, if you don't count the T-70 which was usually Poe Dameron anyway...

I've got Luke, Knave/FCS/R3, Knave/FCS/R3 put together and gonna give it a try tonight.

True, it IS good that they're finally great to fly again and effective now. However, if every rebel player is using them it gets to a point where you wonder why bother having the rest if your collection? That's what I mean by boring - not the ship itself.

Well, took it to a tournament today and went 2/2, which is a Personal Best, doubly so with a finishing position of 8/21.

It does work, I just need some practice with it.
