My understanding is that any unclaimed seats (from Regional winners choosing to attend/pay for the 40 seats set aside for that kind of thing) will go up for grabs on March 1st, so there's two different ways you could still make it at this point (win an event or get the second round of tickets).

I'm also in. Quick on the draw up here in Chi-town, all the interested locals I am aware of got tickets.

So here's a conundrum: what if you have a worlds ticket but then win your regional?

Then you don't claim your regional reserved seat and it goes on sale in March.

Correct. @SkyCake, my understanding is winning a Regional allows you to purchase a reserved ticket, but that's it. It won't save you money in that circumstance.

Right and so no one at that regional gets a reserved seat essentially... And that's not fun. It encourages you not to play, or play but if you are winning dump a game...otherwise you win and its kind of a spoiler

Calling it "Worlds" is kind of funny, when it's actually Nationals/Regionals winners from the NA area + a few more + a bunch of "random" locals :D

Stop pretending other countries exist outside of M'erica. (I always feel the need to apologize to people from other countries for my countries behavior, sorry we're terrible).

I'm keen to discuss your arguments.

The funny thing is I don't really play vassal anymore. Even I won't argue that Vassal and Real Life the game plays is different.

Still, it's my baby and no one messes with the Best Armada Tournament Ever.

I don't deny it, I'm sure it is great tournament. My point is, that in similar way to Worlds held in NA, it excludes certain group of players, so can't be really treated as the World Championship. But I guess it is closer to be called that than just another NA Nationals, as it allows players from entire World to play together, if they only use computer instead of miniatures.

It just seems that by definition then, there can never be a Worlds, truly...

... not unless you’re able to define an actual percentage of players and positioning...

becayse, sure - bounce it between the US and EU, and you’re still ignoring a whole Hemisphere... Andbthe more places you put it in, the longer you exclude some before it comes around again.......

I feel, at this point, there’s no real solution that’s any better than any other.

It's ok to call it worlds really.

It's as good as it gets!

It's just a bit funny, that's all.

I thought we established euros was basically worlds

At least the change to Illinois makes it a more attractive destination outside of the actual tournament. There was no chance of me selling a long weekend to Minnesota to my partner, where I play games for a couple of days and there's not much else to do.

Being a reasonable distance from Chicago actually makes Worlds a saleable proposition as a destination (and having Adepticon to visit at the same time too).

As second place at Australian Nationals (behold my glory! Behold it I say!) I get a reserved seat at World’s. I went ahead and sent in an email claiming it just in case I can scrape together the $1300 AUD for the flights and can find a long lost relative willing to house me for a few days (I’m only little - don’t each much or take up much room).

In the most likely event I’m not going, so my ticket will be up for grabs by another...

Once a Euro champ wins across the pond, sure we can call it that.

So does that also mean we're attending the Rebel Worlds and Imperial Invitational?

Darn, didn't realise that top 2 get a seat. I would tried better on the weekend, as i was planning to go lol. lets see if i get one in march...

not sure where my mistake lies, but Euro 19 winner has a free seat, when Euros used to be later than March...how is that gonna work?

Or is Euros earlier this year, woth the move to Poland? Any news there that I missed?

I think the Euro champ from a few months back gets the trip.

Euro 2018, then. Which makes sense.

Thx Truthi

As the second place at the UK Nationals (… I share in your glory) I was told there was a reserved seat but no further details were given. They even said it would be the first week in May at FFG. Who did you email to get your ticket?

Did they collect your email address?

See above

Thanks Ginkapo,

I checked the registration link and the runners up at Nationals events have a reserved ticket. I've registered and will see what happens next. Now to fork out for my airfare etc if I can get it past the Mrs.

And Armada is sold out, the first FFG game at Adepticon to do so.

Sorry for those that missed the last 48 hours news blitz, but watch for standby slots to open up.

Only good that i Always try to get a direct seat :D. Would have missed the registration by a few days (cough).

But serriously, Schaumburg Illinois? It is a really bad sign, when the move their own games away from the gaming center. Even when it is a big convention. I mean, it worked as well for the Euros.

What did someone said at Worlds? I love you Armada players. You are always so optimistic...
