Day 2: You can't complete 4 rounds of Swiss + Finals in the allotted time.

Day 1, however, has 12 hours set aside for 4 Swiss game

****. This looks really good and I'd actually go out of my way to hit Adepticon/Chicago (sorry Roseville, you just don't seem the tourist attraction I want when I travel). But I've got a new position and that would be during the probation period where I don't want to use any time off unless I absolutely have to.

Better than after registration opens up. I'll take it.

Hey, important thing that my friend Matt reminded me of tonight. Adepticon, because it was started as a minis convention, has a specific rule about quitting. Namely, that if you do, you get banned forever.

http://www.adepticon.org/wpfiles/2019/2019conduct.pdf - conduct policy

"Quitting: We are all adults and are expected to behave as such. Quitting during an event affects the quality of the experience for all attendees and creates a significant disruption for event staff. Failure to finish an event at AdeptiCon will lead to forfeiture of all scheduled events for the rest of the weekend and being placed on the banned list for all future AdeptiCons. That said, obviously there are legitimate circumstances that would require someone to have to leave the event. For such instances, please speak to the head event staff prior to leaving the premises so the judges can have time to make the proper adjustments. Appropriate reasons include such things as Family, Health, and Work-related emergencies. Getting an early start at the bar or on the road, while highly appealing, are not legitimate excuses."

If FFG themselves is actually going to enforce this, I honestly don't know, especially for day 2. I just don't want someone to sign up and then get permabanned from future events for dropping. So, if you get in, YOU'RE IN. I DON'T KNOW what this implies for Friday's games if any of us are lucky enough to make it to then, or if FFG will care about people wanting to drop, but FFG and Adepticon are 2 different companies and all. Just warning everyone of what they're signing up for here, i don't want people to have a crappy time or be unable to come to future Worlds events here.

Exquisite.

Hmm. I wasn't contacted by FFG either (yet). Not sure if they're funding tickets/hotel for Euro champion. Oh well, we're gonna have an X-wing System Open Series tournament in Poland next weekend. I might just go ahead and ask them in person there.

Huh.

That's a real bummer if it applies to multi-day events, since it means you can't sign up for X-Wing (or whatever else) in case you miss Armada's day two.

"The winner of these events will receive free entry to these events. In addition, the 2018 World/European/North American Champions will receive free travel and accommodations. You will be contacted by January 11th to make appropriate arrangements."

26 hours roughly until tickets are available. Tell your friends, get the word out, cause that's the time we've been given to make sure everyone gets a chance to go.

Or tell no one and increase your own chances! ;)

Lawful Good.

Lawful Evil.

Hey all, I reached out to Adeptacon following @geek19's post as I know a bunch of people I've talked to planned to sign up for both Armada and Legion. I did ask my question geared towards would I get a ban for signing up to both and dropping/not showing to Legion if I made day 2 (and not what if I qualified for Day 2 Armada but wanted to play Legion), but here is Adeptacon's response (in short it's encouraged):

Derek,

That is fine. Tournament with a qualifying round and a finals round are different. In fact I would encourage you to register for something on day 2 just in case you do not qualify.
The banning policy if more for people who quit in the middle of a tournament, or simply leave between rounds. We'd never ban anyone for not showing up for an event. Things happen.
Matt
The response isn't clear if dropping between day 1 and 2 (assuming you qualified) could be considered leaving between rounds (as I didn'tthink to ask it that way), but at least for those, like me, who want to play Armada both days, but if I can't play day 2 want to play Legion that's congirmed to be ok.

Definitely appears to clearly say dropping mid way is in no way tolerated while not appearing to a tournament you signed up for is ok. So sign up for both, but if you make the cut you are playing in it.

So is True Neutral just following FFG OP's Twitter, or only retweeting it?

True neutral is being FFG OP.

Chaotic evil would be DDOSing the registration servers.

Here’s the other thing:

Tickets for this “Worlds” go on sale THIS SUNDAY with not an official peep on the subject...

.. that’s worrisome, don’t you think?

I've only just picked up this info today and have made a last minute decision with my partner to make the trip to Illinois if I can get a ticket to this event.

It's been a rushed day and I'm picking up a load of this info from the forums. Am I right in understanding that I won't be able to register until 1pm CT (not even register membership details on the site so I can be prepped ready to go)? I can't see anywhere to pre-register.

Also, I thought that there were 100 places available but I'm only seeing 60 tickets that will be available at that link. Does anyone have an idea what that's about? Pre-registered spaces for nationals winners?

Correct on all counts. The Adepticon page will update at 1pm Central tomorrow to a have "Register" button in their page.

And promptly crash as the world's pressure for ffg star wars overloads their servers?

I saw Teams... I would like to know more, as that sounds like a good time.

Team tourney is a lot of fun.

Last year was two 300pt fleets, same faction, uniques were unique accross both fleets (ie no double yavaris).

@Ling27

@BrobaFett

That sounds like an absolute blast. I'll have to ask around and see if anyone wants to team up. I want to go just to show support for the game and get more ships on the board!

Humourous to me that the autocorrect in the link has changed adepticon to adoption.

The "official" response might vary, but I doubt anyone would be too upset as long as you communicated to ffg that you were dropping. They would just take the next person in line.

Tickets should be up now, right? anyone seeing anything?

Edit: only appeared at the bottom of page, not in the left menu

Edit 2: I'm in! Looking forward to meeting some forum faces there! :D
