2.0 Core should have been Clone Wars

That is like saying George Lucas should have started with Episode 1 instead of Episode 4.

Then we would have had posts that were. "why is the new core set clone wars? now I have to buy 2x factions I don't want just to get a damage deck and movement templates"

We already get this from scum only players....

Let me put it to you simple. There is no way to make everyone happy.

Not sure why you are complaining... you said you are done and not spending money stopped at 2.0's release whats your vested interest to come here and complain about something you have now stated does not even effect you?

if they sold the core set without models, or one core for each faction pairing then it would make evetyone happy.

most of us had 1 of each core set from 1.0... did anyone need more tie fighters or x-wings? at least an imp vs rebs core could have had some variation from 1.0

One core set for each faction pairing would have left me with many extra things that i would have had to pay for.

Core set without models may have been a way to go i can agree on that, but it would kind of suck for new players, from a marketing perspective there needs to be a single product someone can pick up and play even if its in a limited format.

I do not think there is a way to make everyone happy without releasing a ton of different sku's to cover all options but i do not think stores would have been happy about that.

This isn't like Runewars where you're selling a miniatures game to miniatures game folks. There they can have a "Core" and a stuff you need from the core except the models an "Essentials Pack." This is selling a Star Wars game to Star Wars fans. It is also marketing for the Star Wars movies. There is a completely different framework for how this all has to go together.

After twenty years, "Prequels suck!" is a reflex reaction. It is not quite a miracle we're getting prequel content at all. Prequel content as the entryway to the game or requirement to the game was likely a bridge too far.

As the title says. The 2.0 Core set should have been a Clone Wars core set right from the beginning.

FFG knew they had Clone Wars in the pipeline, they just decided to have old players buy an unnecessary 2.0 core set just for the damage deck. This would have been avoided entirely if the core set was made around Clone Wars ships. FFG has a knack for double dipping our wallets.

Before anyone answers "nobody is forcing you to buy", I only want to say "you are correct". I haven't bough any 2.0 content and will not do so. I'm keeping 1.0 and spending my gaming dollar on other games. FFG just keeps giving me more reasons to go somewhere else.

You're a tad bit late to the party ?

Having alternate starters would be pretty cool actually.

Nope.
