Best rebels list???

Hi all,

I have bought a few things of each thing and I want to develop the best list possible. I have the Core, plus one copy of soldiers, one of ATRT, one of T-47, one cannon, one commandos and Han Solo. What do you think about the following lists? which one looks better?

List 1- Luke & support

*Luke+ Force reflexes, jedi mind trick, emergency stims 188

* 3 units of rebel troopers with rebel trooper and z6 each 216

*Rebel commandos, proton charge saboteur, duck and cover 94

*Strike team with DH-447 and grappling Hooks, 47

*ATRT with rotary 85

*ATRT with laser 90

*1.4 FD Laser with barrage generator 80

Total 800

List 2- Han Solo & Heavy

*Han Solo with Improvised orders, duck and cover 138

* 3 units of rebel troopers with rebel trooper and z6 each 216

*Rebel commandos, proton charge saboteur, duck and cover 94

*Strike team with DH-447 and grappling Hooks, 47

*2 ATRT 110

*T47 with Ax-108 195

Any other list with the things I have????

With the models you have you could go with something like this. It doesn't leave you any bid but I'm not convinced that a bid is as necessary as the "Interwebs" would have you believe, especially in a casual game. This list gives you some firepower in the FD turret as well as some mobile firepower in the 2x AT-RTs with the Rotary Blasters. The sniper Strike Team and the Commando unit are probably more harassing units than anything, but the Scout 2 on both of them could be useful. The minimum 2x Rebel Trooper units is what it is, minimum required. Finally, I went with Luke over Han due to offensive power and mobility since you are light on Corps trooper units. Depending on the scenario, and most importantly, how you use each unit you should be able to make everything work.

upgrades on wrong Commando squads

I would recommend picking up Leia when you get the chance! She is great at being the general, commanding the troops, while Han or Luke run around killing stuff. ?

Common advice is to start with 2 core sets but you’ve already got enough stuff to make that less cost effective. Though extra dice and extra range rulers are nice!

Are you interested in Fleet Troopers? I’m not super excited to get them on the table myself but they are great in the game.

Getting a 4th and possibly 5th set of Core Troopers (Regular Troopers or Fleet Troopers) might help to beef up the numbers.

One weakness, is that by having only one proton charge team (and I understand why) you will be able to lay down charges, but if the heavy of the full unit is killed for any reason, then you have no-one that can trigger the charges left behind. Id maybe grab a second set of commandos (or somehow get someone who is using snipers instead to swap with you, so both teams have a bomber).

Bomber strike teams allow for suicide tactics, as long as you keep the 2nd figure out of LOS of the charge you c an run in , set off the charge (taking out the bomber), however due to rulez on the card, the reamining figure in the strike team i s now the leader and is now the bomber, letting you do another suicide run if requirsd.

I do not like to play with many troops of the same, so basics are at the minimum level, I like the idea of having multifunction units , mixing specialists of every type even if it is not too much competitive, I believe that in this kind of games with scenography every battle is different and you can do really well with every unit if you put it at the right place and moment.

My next purchases will be the expansion of the specialists, Chewie ( I love the idea of Han and the walking carpet together) and the wookies ( I like to have melee units).

Soon I will buy Leia because she is the princess and I want to have all the heroes, but I am not interested in the fleet troopers, I do not like them too much.

With the future expansions I would probably put out the commandos with the proton saboteur, the cannon and 1 ATRT to include chewie and the wookies and alternate between Han and Luke ( imagine charges of wookies, Luke and chewie!)

I like this list.

Personally I would switch the saboteur and the sniper between the squads. The sniper rifle will help with the damage output in the big squads. Since you have to place the charge within range 1 you have to move out of the range to use it, which means you cant shoot with the unit also. Loseing 2 shoots is not as bad as loseing 5.

On the other hand, I am planing on using a smal strike squad sab team (converted from Ion troopers) and a big team with sabs because the smal one usually gets killed quickly so you have noone to set of those charges. So in that instance a big unit can help by being alive and and set of charges only.
