I’d just give it more hull, personally...
Y-Wings Wave IV?
1 minute ago, Captain Lackwit said:So what you're saying is that the Firespray and Decimator, craft below 50m in total space taken, have a thicker and more durable hull that most frigates?
No, I'm saying a Small - Medium based Fighter/Bomber with an inherent damage reduction (the effect Marinealver describes) that does not require an action to enable (IE reinforcing the shields as is done on the Atizuk, Firespray, Decimator and YV-666) is floating around with better protection than many of the smaller capital ships...

I still ain't against it. Especially if the Republic Y-Wing's dial isn't very good.
Which it won't be. Guarantee it.

Well the frigates are still absent from 2nd edition X-wing, so there is nothing to compare to yet.
Now against 1st edition huge ships, yes that would be a valid claim, but 1st edition huge ships were always designed to be super weak for some reason. I was just thinking about making use of new 2.0 mechanics in a more interesting way than say a title that -1 agility for +4 hull.

A valiant effort that resulted in something that I see as incredibly potent. Think almost TIE Defender/E-Wing level of value. Even with just 8hp (the BTL-A4), auto ignoring 1 damage from every attack can be tanky as heck (thankfully not 1.0 Reinforce tanky). You're rendition of the Republic Y-Wing is nearly guaranteed to stick around through 2+ turns of focused fire while being able to shoot back.

I still maintain that when we get it, the Y-Wing should be Medium base. This is especially true if it is to get the reinforce action- which, honestly, it should.
How what?

How it is interesting? Just going along on the topic of he thread, if art used on cards is spoiling stuff to come.

There's just no way he's getting in.
He's 3500 years dead AND not canon.

Have you ever heard the tragedy about Darth Plaguis the Wise? Some said he could even prevent people from dying... That or maybe all artwork used is not a sign of things to come

Alright.
Let me settle this as no one else has actually said it yet.
It's not Darth Malgus, it's Kylo Ren. Look closer and zoom in as much as you can.
I know this because I actually thought the same thing at first, and had to double check. The low res, distance and shading make the silver part of Kylo's mask look like the grey face around the eyes of Malgus. And the way its drawn, the front black part of Kylo's mask is a very similar shape to Malgus' mask.
There you go. No debate about what things from what era could or could not make it into the game needed.

Awww you are right.

I highly doubt we're ever going to see that ship just because I don't think it's 'real'.
It's a Yevethan D-Type Trifoil Fighter.
The Wookiee should be able to tell you the rest.

Excellent eye! and it would make sense being that was probably the book that introduced the E-Wing (and the K-wing too if I recall), those books were...special. And also thankfully no longer canon

Well that's a worth round of applause. That's unbelievably obscure.
I read the Black Fleet Crisis earlier this year and I'm still surprised to learn the Yevethans had starfighters that were given a name. I thought the Thrustships were their smallest ships.

The Dark Empire comics introduced the E-Wing, actually. They'd been around for a year or three before the Black Fleet Crisis. BFC tried to actually run with them as the successor to the X-Wing they were intended to be, unlike most other books that ignored them, as it was trying really hard to be a mil-sc-fi book series.
It did introduce the K-Wing though, yes.
The art now makes a lot of sense because it was originally for Etahn A'baht, who was the fleet commander that fought the Yevetha (though never actually came close to an E-Wing cockpit).
The obvious conclusion to this is: Yevethan faction when?
I stand corrected then - Yevethan Wave IV, Y-Wing Wave V.

Thanks, but I can't take credit I'm afraid - someone pointed it out back when Wave 4 was released. But with the advent of the sequel trilogy, I think the K and E are probably the only ships we'll ever see from that era.
