GM Resource: Intrigue Patterns

By pointyman2000, in Legend of the Five Rings: The Roleplaying Game

Hi everyone,

I've been fiddling around with the Intrigue Rules and I've started putting together "patterns" where the Intrigue rules can be used to achieve a goal in the story. I've put a couple up on a google docs file for people to check out and wanted to share them here. Feel free to use or abuse them as you see fit!

Oh, I like these.

I'm going to have to do something like this at some point for a couple of the Social Scenes in City of Lies.

Thanks! I'll be adding a few more as I think of them, but it's a good way to show just how the Intrigues can be used to set up complex scenarios. I'm also open to additions, so if people want to try their hand at it, post them here and I'll add it to the file and credit you accordingly.

You might want to check out my rules in the Influence Game. ( https://craneclan.weebly.com/the-influence-game.html)

I don't think what you have is over-ridden or replaced by the Influence game, but I think the two can work together and they are related...just different attacks at the same problem....what are you doing all these court actions /for/.

This might be the best thread, y'all.

I think this is stellar work, and does give the "why" for the court actions. I'll see how I can work this into my existing campaign as I'm running a game that will mostly take place in a single court.
