Shadow soul familiar

By Cdric, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

First I apologies for my poor english.

The shadow soul familiar cannot be killed and no figure can end his move on it.

So, the familiar can block en "4 spaces monster" in a 2 spaces wide corridor with en player 2 spaces behind the shadow soul.

This situation can cleary "bug" some final fight with the big boss.

I haven't found any comment / errata on that subject ...

Perhaps I misunderstood something ...

Thanks in advance for your comments

You are correct. Shadow Soul can indeed be used in this manner.

However, a monster can move onto Shadow Soul, make an attack, and then move off. While this won't help in all cases, it will in some.

Thanks Joram.

I think that the basic movement capacity should be enough for that familiar (it is already a powerfull capacity), the "stop big monsters" is pretty broken.

I'd tell my players to bugger off if they tried to pull this (I of course noted this capability, but did not tell them of it, and we simply played the hero is placed in the closest square).

Really. One can either play the game or foul it with excessive abuse of the holey rules. I seriously wonder why FFG doesn't use the simplest question when playtesting, which is:

"What is the worst thing that could happen if I implement this mechanic?"
