Four Horsemen decks

By sabrjay, in KeyForge

I've seen a fair amount of talk about the Four Horsemen deck. I ran the prelaunch event at my FLGS and one of the participants got the deck. After being to able to examine the cards and the deck, I don't get the hype. Yeah. it's a cool theme, but the cards aren't overpowered. They are good, but nothing really special, even as a combo.

Pretty sure the hype is literaly about it being a cool theme, but also having 4 solid cards is just a nice bit of consistency.

My guess is that there are lots of "card combos" that synergize well together and appear together in decks intentionally to help with game balance and playability. The Four Horsemen stick out because it's a popular and well known set of characters.

And also because they have some nice tricks that can be cycled back into play when Death hits the board.

I own them. They're neat.

But I want more martian decks! I loves my little green space-mens!

I saw a Four Horseman deck at my local prelaunch event. It was not all that great a deck, it was okay. But it had a really neat theme.

Martians are my favorite. With Glass Hive, they produce a ridiculous amount of aember. I had one turn where I produced 23.

Witnessed one game where a player generated 28 in one turn. Not quite sure how or with what deck (I was listening in while playing my own match), but it was pretty hilarious. I blame Logos on general principle.

I love Martians as a faction, but the deck I got at the official pre-release event in Eindhoven, NL is seriously hampered by them. Have a pretty great selection of Sanctum and Shadows (Bait & Switch, Faygin + 3 Urchins), but a Mars selection that doesn't work at all. Only three creatures and mostly cards that either want to archive them or build on the number of Mars creatures. Oh and one of the creatures is Tunk (doh!). I had to take a turn multiple times where I chose Mars as the active house just to discard 4 cards and that was all I did for the turn (apart from crying on the inside and receiving sympathetic looks from my opponents). Mass Abduction was great though, I'll give it that.

I have a Logos/Sanctum/Mars deck where currently my strategy is to archive away as many bad Mars cards as possible while using my Sanctum cards to activate the good ones. I think that makes for a very interesting game plan!

I like it! Wish I could do the same

I saw a decklist with two sets of the Four Horsemen in there... The eight horsemen.

(Mr. Torgue voice)

THAT'S DOUBLE THE APOCALYPSE!

IT'S AN APOCASPLOSION!

4 horsemen is overrated, 8 horsemen is very strong.

I haven’t used the decks with them in yet but have got the 4 horsemen twice in the 5 decks I’ve opened.

I need less Sanctum - All 5 of my decks have Sanctum as a faction. Guess I must be especially pious!

Ooh nice, Sanctum is my favorite.

I hope I get maverick 8 horsemen deck when I buy the starter set on Thursday...

Forget 8 horsemen, you need 12! Plus some Mavericks!

Never seen a 12 horsemen deck but yeah, sure, why not

And I really hope to see a maverick as I've never actually seen one yet.

How did you do that? My deck has Glass Hive and Key Abduction but I haven't been able to forge with it, and won't unless I go crazy with archiving. My deck only has 3-4 Mars creatures.

I opened a deck tonight with the Four Horseman + Time Traveler. I didn't know the special rares could come together. It's totally going to get chained.

Lack of creatures may be your problem. If I recall correctly, I had at least 7 Martian creatures on the table.

Nah. From what I've seen of cards designated "special", thy are part of a combo. None, not even the Horsemen seems overpowered.

give me something that actually generates Aember please

Out of 9 total decks I got just 1 sanctum deck and there's **** near no aember manipulation in there. Sad.

Gotta be careful against Shadows doing that or they'll just steal it all. (One of their cards is "steal all but 6 amber")

I got a timetraveler. I like the combo but the deck looks like it's a disruption style deck tho it is low on untamed creatures (5) and had 2 full moon. it also has library access.

I haven't gotten to play it yet so Idk if it's gonna be good or not

franard of the baron's marsh is the deck name if yall wanna look at it
