A primary attack?

For the purposes of a talent such as Crack Shot, do missiles count as primary attacks?

No, primary attacks are only the value/restrictions printed on the pilot card

And the Moldy Crow card. For completeness.

For future-proofing completeness, it's because of the golden rule:

Quote
If the ability of a card conflicts with the rules in this guide, the card ability takes precedence

Hence anything can add primary weapons. But by default, the primary ones are those seen on the pilot card.

Can I just clarify this:

During a round:

-I can make a single primary attack from the weapons on my ship card

-I can then make a second attack using an upgrade card (for example missiles)

-However, I could not make a third attach if the ship had two primary weapons (I can’t use both primary weapons in a single round)

-I also cannot use a second set of missiles to make a third attach if I happened to have 2 sets of missiles equipped?

During a round you can make a single attack using any of your primary weapons (on your ship card) or equipped special weapons. You cannot normally attack e.g. with a primary weapon and a proton torpedo in the same round.

If any of your upgrades (e.g. Cluster Missiles, Rebel Han Solo Gunner, Quickdraw pilot) allow it you can make a single additional attack during the round (only one, no matter how many upgrades would trigger). This will usually (but not always) include the phrase 'as a bonus attack'.

Thank you that’s brilliant. So one attack per ship, per round unless a card allows a bonus attack when that ship can then make just one extra attack (I think cluster missiles allow this).

Correct.

Yep. Or for 1e games, if you were flying a Y-wing, that had the BTL-A4 title, which locks your equipped turret forward, you could then fire your Primary guns, THEN THE turret.. So if you had a Twin laser turret, you'd essentially get 3 attacks, though the latter 2 would only ever cause 1 hit per attack...

Then there was the first edition shenanigans with Quickdraw, allowing for a potential of FOUR attacks per round (shoot front, then back... lose a shield, then shoot front, then back, again). Ah, the good ol' days. 🙄
