1.0. How many asteroids?

By LTuser, in X-Wing

So i know there's iirc 6 different types in the core set, and i got 2 more via (iirc) either the Decimator or Gozanti set.

BUT do any other sets have additional ones?

YT-2400 Expansion. Don’t have them in front of me but I’m pretty sure they are different than the ones in the Decimator Expansion.

Incorrect information

There are 18 (whoops, math/proofread fail) total 1.0 obstacles that are/were tournament legal.

6 asteroids in the core.

6 different asteroids in the TFA core.

3 debris clouds in the YT2400.

3 different debris clouds in the Decimator.

The Raider came with 3 additional debris, but they were never standard event legal.

That’s 18 obstacles, 12 asteroids.

You are correct. The danger of typing one thing and changing mid flight is you need to re-read it to make sure the beginning lines up with the end.

Indeed. Done it many times.

Probably worth mentioning, the obstacles in the 2.0 starter are all duplicates of 1.0 obstacles.

So to really get some 'asteroid diversity', i should see if i can get a TFA core set then.

Well, just to clarify....

which core set(s) do you have? How much 1.0?

The 2.0 core set includes 3 asteroids and 3 debris clouds. They all match old expansions - don’t quote me on it but I think it’s 3 of the original core 6 and the YT2400 clouds? I’d need to reinventory what I have.

You might be able to snag stuff on eBay for less if you are just looking for the rocks. In fact, unless you plan on buying a Resistance or First Order conversion kit, I’d flat out recommend that way unless you can get extremely lucky on your 1.0 TFA core deal.

Second edition has asteroids from original core and debris from Decimator. The ones with the blown up x-wings on them.

I've got 3 regular core sets, and the debris from the YT-2400 and decimator packs.

And don't forget that Epic ships can be used as obstacles as well!

Good sir, this is the internet! Your logic has no power here!

You have NO idea how fun it is to bust out an epic ship for a casual game against a seasoned tournament player. It TOTALLY throws them off their game.

First game of the last day of 1e

"Okay, so... wait... what is that?"
"My obstacle."
"But... why?"
"So, can I fly under it?"
"Nope, you gotta go around it"
"This is dumb!"
"So is your list, are we doing this or what?"

I still lost... I mean, I lost BAD, but it was still fun from beginning to end :D

I’ve used my gr75 as an obstacle before, but we didn’t know the rules back then so I brought it AND two more asteroids :D

It was hilarious.

Man, now I want to play a 2.0 epic squadron dogfight with all the epic ships adrift as obstacles....
