Yoda used one before the invasion of Naboo.

Yoda quickly moved from the 7B to the ETA-2 Actis Class Interceptor. It was kept in a hangar in the Jedi Temple and used to travel to Dagobah.

looks like I'm going to have to get my paints out! ?

Read that as "looks like I'm going to have to get my pants out!"

the ones you pictured are all great but there are also 2 dozen more, from the toy lines, comics, clone wars, etc

Well from the article it looks like we are getting 8 Jedi Starfighter pilots, 4 from the standalone expansion which we know are Anakin, Ahsoka, Luminara, and Barris with the starter pack having 4 more unique in it. Looking at the starter's spread we can see Obi-Wan and from one of the tiles Plo Koon which leaves us with 2 mystery pilots, I'm personally hoping we get Mace Windu and Adi Gallia the latter of the two because of the game Jedi Starfighter. But, from the art one of the Jedi Starfighters looks green so we might get Saesee Tinn, who wouldn't likely be a Int 6, so 2 int 6s on a single ship is interesting.

Mace and Plo should be givens. The former for his sheer popularity/marketability, the latter for being one of the best Jedi pilots. I guess Adi wouldn’t be bad, as there are still more males than females in the game, but I reeeeeeally want Fisto...

Edit: Looking again, I think the cards to the right of Kenobi are most likely Plo, Mace, and Saesee Tinn... also has a green fighter, and the second part of the name that you can see on that card looks too short to be any of the others listed in this thread.

If it’s four letters... and (short) it could be Yoda... maybe please

I want Adi Gallia because of Jedi Starfighter and that in legends she was one of the pilots to actually test pilot the Delta 7. It will be interesting to see who all ends up on the Eta-2, aside from Anakin and Obi-Wan who will eat up two of the slots. If Battlefront 2 is any indicator then I guess they might through Yoda on it.

Edit: you can actually see a good amount of the first name on the card.

Need plo koon

He should be init. 6 also

I think you can see Plo Koon's tile in the bottom left hand of the 3 pack picture, it's init 5 the same as Obi Wan. Though I agree in wishing it was init 6. FFG does seem determined to keep the number of init 6 pilots down though.

Which will be interesting with the Republic since we will likely get 3-4 variants of Anakin, one for the Delta 7, one for the Eta 2, one for the Twilight, and possibly one for the N1. I hope they don't make it so Anakin is the only Republic Int 6 pilot.

If they did, he'd be an ETA-2 pilot, probably. But he could be here too. But here's the thing about that.

Gets down to it, one of these was owned by pretty much every Jedi. So it's not far fetched to put him in one anyway. I have to say though, it is a little perplexing that every Jedi gets a fightercraft that... Needs a separate device that could end up with them stranded if it gets destroyed, lol.

Yeah... while I can appreciate not needing 2 i6 Force-sensitives, I wouldn’t have minded an i6 Plo.

That said, he can fly with Odd Ball at the same initiative, which is cool.

But not another clone wingman, yet.

Speaking of, anyone think they see Cody anywhere in here yet?

6 is reserved for the best pilots and for balance. Is why Talonbane was a 6, the scum didnt have any at the time. I also dont think FFG want too many Int 6 force wielders out there as it will screw with their development. There is only 1 Int 6 force wielder, I am counting Anakin and Darth as 1, and maybe FFG want to keep it that way.

Anyone think we'll also get Anakin and Obi-wan in the Eta-2 expansion when it comes out?

Just a reminder, but you don’t really want too many I6s, even if you think you do. One of the titles basically turns them into an x-wing... and you don’t want to play against two I6 supernatural Jedi. Plus, I’d like to get cool new force powers that aren’t Brilliant Evasion, and that’s not gonna happen if there are too many carriers that aren’t fun to play against in testing.

“As part of the Republic's Judicial Department , the starfighters owned by the Jedi Order were colored in the red and white hues that represented the diplomatic immunity that the Jedi enjoyed, similar to Republic Cruisers. However, some would be painted in other colors as the Clone Wars progressed.”

So apparently it’s not Obi-Wan’s colors because he wanted to be unique, Obi-Wan is just the only one still trying to be a peacekeeper ?

As for the i6 debate: you’re all totally right. But outside of that game balance aspect, Plo deserves the be i6. I totally understand not wanting double-i6 Force Aces, but it’s also a little disappointing to not have Plo at his full potential.

Saesee Tiin was described as a Jedi Order top pilot rivaled only by Anakin, I'm disappointed he's not a 6.

EDIT well, he still might be, the cards in the spreads don't need to be in a PS order

I’m becoming more and more sure he’s the 4th pilot in that pack. The Aethersprite article I was looking at mentioned his name before anyone else’s, as he apparently headed up a project to modify them with more weaponry. I’d guess he and Mace will remain at i4, given the order of the cards. (And no, they don’t have to be in initiative order. But they always have been.)

I mean they also said the Vulture droids in the CIS starter set were in Grevious' colors despite that actually just being their separatist paint job while the standalone expansion is their pre-clone wars colors.

I wasn’t quoting FFG there, that was some wiki article about aethersprites.

I don't think Initiative score is entirely meant to be representative of the pilots' relative talent. And I for one would prefer to see a few more powerful pilot abilities in the 2-4 initiative range, so that there is more meaningful decision making than simply "pay points to improve both initiative and pilot ability."

To that end, I'll be thrilled if Mace Windu is an I4 pilot with an absolutely bonkers good ability, while Anakin has an ability that is useful but not overwhelmingly powerful at I6. It would be not only good for gameplay, but for fluffiness as well. But if we have yet another case where the highest initiative pilots also have obviously better pilot abilities, I admit I'll be a little bit disappointed.
